Could we squeeze Cawley's pips and see if he's got any juicy titbits for us?

Despite their clearout, McGeady is still at Sunderland but out of favour. Parky still wants to move him on

At best we're only going to see 20 or 30 mins of Chuks tomorrow, as 2nd half impact sub.ForeverAddickted said:
We need the ball to stick up front - could this be a rare start for Davison to play the first 60 mins, with Washington buzzing around him - then Chuks to replace him?
We are weak in both boxes and have no attacking full backs, but plenty of midfielders to pack the middle.

Pleased Chuks is available now. Can't see why he can't play up top other than fitness, injuries or Covid. I agree he will be on the bench and probably get 20 minutes or so as impact when we are chasing game. Not confident about this game. 0-2 Sunderland I fear. Hope I'm wrong cos we will be chasing the pack once reinforcements are in. COYRs0

Bloody hell, can’t believe he’s still there, he must have an 800 year contract!killerandflash said:Despite their clearout, McGeady is still at Sunderland but out of favour. Parky still wants to move him on

I'd prefer we give them each 45.Oggy Red said:

Sunderland never draw so I'll go 1-1.1

Those are massive caveats though...KettsJohn said:Pleased Chuks is available now. Can't see why he can't play up top other than fitness, injuries or Covid. This all day long.grumpyaddick said:Unless I am missing something, we have no proven strikers or defenders which is unusual in successful football teams.
Compared to the last time we played Sunderland in this league, when we had the likes of Aribo, Bauer, Bielik, Dijksteel, Taylor, Naby, Elliot, Cullen etc that team is a bit of a joke.
Sorry but until we get some decent players, we will keep losing.
0-2
A week after the takeover & we are no stronger, maybe weaker if you prefer Bonne to Davison.
We score first - we might get a point
They score first - we lose.
0-3.
But no worries as we have 5 or 6 players lined up. Oven ready. Itching to go. Just we arent signing them as there is better out there. There is always better out there.

Hasnt taken long to improve "features" at the club has it?

Seems like people are happy to give our rivals a 4 game head start. Lose this one & having no game next week we could be in the bottom 4 by the time we play Wigan.palarsehater said:think we will lose and then as of the game after this our season starts - got a few players in now and need to get the ball rolling.1 -

It's a long season...

Have Bowyer & Gallen been playing snooker together & been rubbing the chalk under their eyes....??ForeverAddickted said:Hasnt taken long to improve "features" at the club has it?1 -
Good to hear Olly mention that Pearce is back involved with some contact training now!!
Potentially back for Wigan maybe?1 -
Even with Sunderland being regularly shit against us... 0-2 to the Black Cats.0
-
Time will tell with Bonne and Maddison but in Bowyer we trust. Sunderland do not score many so if we can keep it tight at the back with a strong defence....oh, 1-0 to Sunderland.0

0-0 until 60 minutes and then bring on the super sub partnership of Maddison and Aneke. 1-0 CAFC

I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet or score more than once, so I'm going for 1-1.

There is a lot of quality in this squad . We were unlucky against Lincoln and it will take time for the team to gel . 1-1 draw .3

Can't see past a Sunderland win but will hope for a 1-1 all draw, purely because we will concede and probably won't score more than one, if that. Guess our plan is to pack the midfield and hope to provide enough service to a lone striker. If nothing else though, please no injuries1

As we still haven't acquired half our team, I'd be happy with a point and ecstatic with a win.2
-
Given our lack of bodies in defence and up front and the fact that the new signings are not up to speed, I’d be happy with a point.
I imagine that the team will be similar to last Sunday, with Davison in for Bonne. Josh’s physicality should come in handy against a robust Sunderland side, including when we’re defending corners and free kicks. Assuming he’s fit, we might then see Chuks’ usual cameo for the last 20-25 minutes.2 -
Really hope Williams gets a start. Our failure to strengthen the defence so far (really surprised we’ve only brought in one youngster on loan) means we’ve got little chance against one of the best teams in the division. But that’s normally when Charlton surprise you, so I’ll go 2-1 to us!
