We talk about rotation being over used in SE7 but young George Lapslie continues to play minute after minute in League Two; Tuesday night saw the Stags travelling to the North West and Carlisle United... They would return home with zero points, conceding five minutes before half-time in what was the only goal of the game - As a result they would remain 19th and three points above Stevenage in the relegation places, albeit with superior Goal Difference... This afternoon saw Southend United travelling to the Midlands for a relegation six pointer, once again George Lapslie would play another ninety minutes (the only game he hasnt was when he was sent off on his debut), this time the points were shared, 1-1 the scoreline, with the home side resucing a point with ten minutes left
George Lapslie and Mansfield will travel to Scunthorpe United, knowing a win could easily lift them to 18th.
Dropping to Non-League and it was cup day for both Josh Davison and Ben Dempsey as the two lined up for Woking in what was the FA Trophy Second Round, facing them were fellow National League side: Dover Athletic, yet it would be the home side (Woking) that advanved to the next stage of the competition, running out 2-1 winners, neither loanee getting on the scoresheet... Elswhere and it appears as though the loan spells for Nathan Harness (Welling United) and Charles Clayden (Dulwich Hamlet) have now ended, with both players absent in recent fixtures for their respective sides - Football has of course ground to a halt for Erhun Oztumer; Bristol Rovers have had their recent fixtures called off due to COVID-19, yet could potentially return to action on Boxing Day when they visit fellow strugglers: Milton Keynes
Thanks again for the updates. I knew you WOULD deliver.

FFS... I made a conscious effort to avoid that word today and WOULD still put it in FIVE bloody times

Fascinating that Lapslie can play full 90s every game, especially as he's been playing twice a week throughout much of his loan period
This month he's played on the 2nd, 5th, 12th, 15th and 19th

Energy has never been a problem for him, and he also doesn't have our training regimen to deal with

Yeah found that interesting when I looked on TransferMarkt
Of course could be that League Two is slower than League One, also shows the fitness levels Bowyer gets his players to if George can manage playing every game. Also makes you wonder even more if Mansfield are heavily underachieving this season by not playing to the levels that they can, no way should they be in a relegation scrap
Scunthorpe and Mansfield isnt a derby but the two clubs faced off against one of their closest opponents in League Two this weekend. Its not just distance (albeit 50-miles) that separates these two teams, before a ball had been kicked in anger, the hosts; Scunthorpe United were three points clear of their opponents yet found themselves on equal points come full-time, with the Stags ahead on Goal Difference, winning 3-2.
Yup; George Lapslie played the full match again and opened the scoring, getting his fifth goal (and fourth in the League) for what so far has to be called a successful loan period, although its unlikely the academy product will return to SE7 in January, given Lee Bowyer's hopes of strengthening under what are already tight salary restrictions!! - Mansfield play host to Salford City on Tuesday night as they look to move away from the drop, a task that remains difficult however, given the fact that Southend United have recently picked up some form (and have a game in hand) meaning that Mansfield's gap to the drop remains at four points
In League One it was of course a division which COVID has taken a strange liking to, five games postponed, with only the Championship suffering a cancellation (just the one game) - Bristol Rovers, just out of their own self-isolation, were back in action, they travelled to Milton Keynes in what was a similar encounter to the above... Two teams, both fighting to move away from the drop!!
On this occasion; Milton Keynes ran out 2-0 winners, moving them three points away from their opponents who themselves sit just a point and one place above the drop; on loan midfielder: Erhun Oztumer remained absent from the squad, with Paul Tisdale confirming afterwards that the player is currently recovering from COVID-19
Get well soon Erhun!!
Bristol Rovers now dont play until the New Year after their game at Portsmouth on Tuesday was called off due to COVID-19!!
Dropping into League One and it wasnt a happy afternoon for either Ben Dempsey or Josh Davison, Woking travelled to Surrey rivals: Aldershot Town, all three points would remain with the home side with the Shots running out 3-0 winners; Dempsey himself was replaced on 52-minutes... Said result means that Woking have dropped out of the Play-Off positions, although remain just two points behind Altrincham in seventh place.
The National League returns sooner than the Football League with games being played on Bank Holiday Monday instead of Tuesday evening; Eastleigh will be the visitors as they themselves look to enter the ever growing battle for the Play-Offs!!
@ForeverAddickted I appreciate the effort. Can't say I understand why it's so difficult. I can only assume it's because you're on the Wouldya thread so much.
Another year, another trip to see how the Charlton loans have done this weekend
Starting from the highest possible tier and its great to see Erhun Oztumer back for Bristol Rovers after catching COVID-19; the Turkish Midfielder played the full game upon his return; Rovers beating Blackpool 2-1 despite going a goal down within the first ten minutes, two goals though in as many minutes secured the points for the home side.
That win gives Bristol Rovers a bit of breathing room now, moving three points beyond the relegation zone having played as many games as Rochdale in that last relegation spot!! - Erhun will be looking to get another start next Saturday with Premier League opposition: Sheffield United visiting in the FA Cup.
Down in League Two and it was a similar story for Mansfield Town who are fighting their own relegation battle... The Stags were equally at home today with mid-table side: Port Vale the visitors - George Lapslie unsurprisingly played the full game with the home side running out 4-0 winners, despite the win Mansfield still remain just three points from the drop with Stevenage also securing a 3-1 win at home against fellow strugglers: Scunthorpe United
Despite the gap between Mansfield and the drop, sit in 19th and can yet climb to 15th with another win (along with results going their way) thanks to their superior goal difference... George Lapslie could next be involved on Tuesday night with Mansfield hosting Salford City in a re-arranged game that was originally postponed on the 29th December due to snow - Like Erhun Oztumer and Bristol Rovers, the attention turns to the FA Cup with Mansfield travelling to Cheltenham Town in what will be an all-League Two tie!!.
My latest report ends in the National League where Woking's poor form continues... They faced Aldershot Town this afternoon at Woking having only recently faced the Shots on Boxing Day, on that occasion it was the home side that ran out winners (3-0 the scoreline) and this afternoon it was the turn of the visitors that obtained another victory and so record the double over their Surrey opponents winning 1-0.
Josh Davison played the entire game whilst Ben Dempsey was called into action on 63-minutes... That scoreline means that Woking have now dropped to eleventh in the table yet remain just two points from the last Play-Off position!! - Next Saturday will see the Cards visiting Wrexham where the well publicised Hollywood revolution is truly under way!!

I keep looking out for Wealdstone result as I think Aaron Henry will get some playing time before the end of the season. Back to back wins for bottom half team should mean he is playing well. Signing 10 players for promotion is the hard part, deciding whether our yoof players can step up should be the easy part when planning a promotion challenge.

Davison's 1st was him flicking out his ankle & deflecting in a shot. The 2nd, he took a standard penalty after someone else was fouled.
A goal’s a goal.
John Aldridge claimed 1 years after just so he could reach a milestone (150/200 ???). In those days you just wheeled around with your arm in the air & you got given it.
