    Turgidity at its worst......never seen so many misplaced passes straight to the oppos......must have been 15 or so at a guess.
    Expecting an improvement second half.......mind you that won’t be difficult.

    I'm very, very pro Maddison and think on his day he is probably a top 5 player in this league, but he has been diabolical tonight 
    He's delivered a couple of great balls into the box and the lack of movement was shocking.When he does eventually get the ball hes surrounded.

    As for the Maatsen being woeful comment (not you). He is out there on his own, whats he expected to do?
    Maybe he could start by remembering how to trap the ball first...he’s been dealt a rough hand but his basics have still been poor.

    I'm trying not to mention names as I dont think its fair to say anyone has been a cut above the rest

    Smyth maybe gets a bit of leeway as he's had absolutely zero service

    Amos initially was blameless but the second goal was 100% down to him!!

    Again dominating possesion, but for what? The change in our approach since the international break has been awful.

    Really embarrassing. Genuinely one of the worst 45 minutes of football I’ve seen. Every single player has been dreadful, it’s almost impressive. 

    Get Pearce on for Watson, push Pratley up. Get Morgan on for Gilbey and Williams for Maddison.

    Too often Pratley is the playmaker and he can only do short passes with any accuracy. These short passes are going to a crowded midfield and usually coming back to our defenders.So do not bother going through Pratley and get it upfield where at least Aneke stands an even chance of winning it.

    Always going to happen that we would eventually get caught out by this sideways backwards football.

    Bowyer needs to completely change it, not just this game but always its fucking boring negative football.

    Personally, I’d put Pearce on for Watson and move pratley into midfield with Gilbey and shinney... 

    stop the pissing about at the back and side wards passes , and get Maddison smyth and maatsen in behind them

    I can't decide whether all those crosses from Maddison which find nobody are the fault of him or the other players for not getting into the box. If only we had a Toney on the end of them...

    Bowyer is calling the shots regarding keeping position and playing out from the back. It could work if there was more movement from the mid field and forwards. But it ain’t. The players have lost that winning mentality and just going through the motions. I don’t care whether it’s a new team or not. The skill level is atrocious. We’ve had loads of possession unfortunately in our own half. That won’t produce goals other than in out own net. I am definitely not a football manager but Bowyer has got to change things. Remember TS wants exciting attacking football!

    Feel sorry for Bogle, he did well when he had the ball but Bowyer was fuming with him. Every time we put a great ball in the box he was 15 yards behind play

    That’s fair, maybe I gave Pratley too much blame for the second goal. I’ll bump him up to four and bring Amos down to five.

    It's a team game and the whole side haven't functioned. For Charlton to get back into this both Maatsen and Maddison will be needed.

    It was Maddison's shot that won the corner.
    Maatsen is 18 and is still learning.
    The senior pros have been terrible tonight.

    My fears before the Gillingham match was the constant changing of personal and tactics was why we were often sluggish in the first half.

    Blimey, this needs to be a game of two halves.

    I watch teams with a sense of pattern to there forward play and wonder why we never seem to have that .
