Clearly has a lot of love for the club, even if they treated him poorly. Imagine spending 8 years at a club and no one telling you you've been released.
Interesting that he played for Nathan Jones on loan at Luton, I wonder if Jones might consider re-signing him
Yes, it was bad that his time at Charlton came to such an unsatisfactory end, but that sometimes happens when a club is in turmoil. After Riga left when we got relegated, I can't imagine there would have been any people around to manage the players that summer, and at least do the decent thing.

Another sign of how poorly we were being ran at the time sadly
Hopefully that doesnt happen with kids anymore
Notice he got released at the end of Jose Riga's second term - Riga resigned straight after that last game against Burnley (?) so wouldnt be surprised if there wasnt even a Manager around to tell him that he'd been released!!
We are due a win in front of the fans and a performance. I do not have a lot of time for Wimbledon due to their style of football and bad memories of their old ground. First goal will be crucial and I think we might just get it. 1-0 to the Addicks.

Impressed that he does not hold a grudge.
I liked him as a player and I don’t think Bows would have a kid make his debut against Millwall. I hope he doesn’t show us what we have been missing.

I feel the opposite. They have a style that gives them a chance against better resourced clubs. It is up to those, including us, to counter it. We should never look down on clubs who are trying to beat us, in whatever way they best can, even if they are much smaller. The clubs I respect less are not the Wimbledons but those that lay down and die.
Thanks for the preview. Quite simply, this is yet another fixyure where we should be getting 3 points. I said on here after the Burton game that something was wrong behind the scenes (I got LOL'd), and for me (based on no facts whatsoever) it's Maddison. We are trying to change our style to accommodate him and it's not working.
This team has some real gems like Famewo and Maatsen, with 4 steady heads (Pearce, Pratley, Gunter, Watson), With Shinnie, Matthews, Purrington, Gilbey and Morgan more than capable at this level.
We should not be letting 4 goals in, nor should we keep pissing around with that centre circle / back to the keeper nonsense. Just pass the ball and develop play forwards - it's not rocket technology.
Please not Watson & Pratley together again, midfield is so slow with no energy it totally slows the play down. Need a result tomorrow & a dull losing performance in front of Thomas wouldn’t be great for Bowyer! Hoping for better!

I think that Russell Slade said, shortly after taking over, that the players had simply dispersed at the end of the season and those in contract were not given any kind of fitness programme or guidance over the close season. Small wonder that people like Joe Piggott weren't even spoken to, especially we had that idiot Katrien Meire flouncing about the place.
A pretty shameful way to treat one of our home grown lads after 8 years with the club. Good management and common human decency it was most certainly not.
I thought that Joe's lack of pace was his achilles heel, but he's certainly been putting the goals away this season -
Regarding Pigott, Nathan Jones once said he is the best natural finisher he has ever worked with, so high praise indeed. It’s a real shame how it turned out for him and the way it ended, I wish him well, just not tomorrow.
Wimbledon are a funny side. Work really hard and are well organised, but just aren’t good enough to do anything of note this season. They’ll avoid relegation, mainly down to the fact they have someone who can put the ball in the net. Dealing with Pigott is going to be important, I think we all know that.
I think we are likely to see Maddison return to the starting eleven, it would be nice to see Morgan start too. I’d like to see Matthews start this one and add a bit more going forward, Gunter can have a rest and play Tuesday. Famewo and Pearce will start, Bow seems to have made that clear.
Even though we have a lot of fixtures coming up, Bowyer has to start naming a little bit more of a settled side. Players could play great one game but still not be confident they’ll play the next. That can’t be good to build momentum or confidence really. That’s just my opinion. Just believe we rotate ever so slightly too much.
I am lucky enough to be there tomorrow so will be cheering the players on as much as I can. Can’t wait, can’t sleep.

3-0 win for us COYR
I’m confident we won’t concede 4 in a league game again this season. It’s happened once, it was a blip and Burton did a number on us.
Noted you say it’s based on no facts, but find it difficult to see the issues being down to us playing Maddison. He’s only played in 5 league games since beginning of October and none of them were for longer than 70 minutes.
2 season running Wimbledon have had a prolific striker, which makes such a difference to a small club. They had Marcus Forss on loan last season, we won't get him, but he's the sort of talented young loan striker we desperately need

Forss is an excellent young player, doing well at Brentford this season. You’re right though, Wimbledon been lucky with strikers, Taylor, Pigott, Forss last season. Impressive really.
Apologies to all in advance but I’ve decide it’s an afternoon for the sofa and have just invested my tenner for the livestream. Inevitably means it’s going to be a borefest. Sorry.
I think that there will be a bounce back after the disappointing performance last week. Add to that TS being there the players will be up for it. 2-1 or 3-1 to us.
I'm expecting a boring, turgid game with not many chances at each end. Piggott will score and we will scrape a header from Pearce or some other scrappy goal, so 1-1. The fans who go will want to be entertained but will be disappointed again. It will be generally flat and rubbish.
Sorry but I'm taking the safe boring Golfie approach: convince yourself of a bad result, and then have a smile at everyone else's disappointment afterwards.
Joe Pigott was 27 last month and is a much improved player on the lad who mainly looked out of his depth for Cafc 1st team. (Only played a few games)
Having seen how good Joe could be for the Academy sides in the box with a good service I stated that once he got away from cafc he would've a career in the lower divisions from National League to as high as League 1 if he found a manager who believed in him.
I'm pleased that Joe has achieved.
To negate Joe today it would' be best to play a high line as Pigott isn't blessed with pace.
I would like us to play Mattsen and Matthews as wing backs and play 3-5-2. We need width to attack the Dons leaky defence.
Charlton are giving League 1 teams far too much respect this season. We are not pro active enough.
Two seasons ago we beat the Dons 1-0 at the valley despite the Nabster having an early bath in the first minute after Trevor two reds Kettle decided to live up to reputation. He sent the opposition's player off in 2nd half to reach his Par.
I thought both Pearce and Famewo had decent games in the last match.
Pep can change his team every match for a whole season at Man City and they play the same way. Every time we are forced by injury or resting players we lose any momentum.
It means we will grind our way through the 46 match season. Success or failure could hinge on good chances taken or bad goals given away by Cafc. We trust it's the former.
