No way would have Southall contacted Farnell. Farnell took him to court for unpaid fees and wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
Nimer was put in touch with Farnell, purely because of his history with Southall, knowing that Farnell would jump at the chance to get something back on him. I suspect one of the other chancers - maybe even Amis - would have known of Southall's previous.
With respect, I wasn't seeking anyone else's viewpoint on what happened. I wanted to check whether I heard right, and if so why Thomas isn't following the "settled narrative", namely that which you have just repeated.
FWIW Amis suggested that van Seventer recommended Farnell to Nimer. But again, that's not what I'm asking.
Perhaps you may get your answer if you listen again.
I'd rather not have to, if it's all the same to you, as I am busy working on the website right now. I was hoping somebody else might confirm that I heard correctly. If so, we can take it from there, if not then the settled narrative stands, albeit with several unclear aspects, some of which Farnell uses to his advantage with journalists - and that is why this is important, at least to me.
TS saying that it worked out well as the club was days from Administration so had to get the club quickly
Dealing with the stadium etc. would have delayed things
Saying the 15-years gives him time to see whether the Valley is worth buying or whether we go elsewhere and build a new Stadium
First we've heard that bit...
Was reported after CAST's first meeting with Sandgaard as owner in October:
The Valley
Given the stated Premier League – and even European ambitions, we asked Thomas how he felt about the potential to expand capacity at The Valley and any barriers to this given he does not own the stadium. He felt that the capacity was fine for now “and probably even for The Premier League to begin with”. He is not going to make major investments without owning the ground so a purchase deal with Duchâtelet is still high on his list and he maintains regular contact with him and Lieven de Turck: “In fact I might start pursuing a deal early next year.” He said he was very aware how important The Valley is to supporters, but was frank enough to admit that he would look at options for a bigger stadium if the ownership could not be sorted in the longer term, adding that he wouldn’t consider moving elsewhere “unless fans were on board”.

I think I'm in love with TS. We're so lucky to have him.
I'm totally cool with your sentiments but as previously stated I finished my long term relationship with SCP and myself and Thomas have been an item for a while now and no I'm not in to sharing . So step away from my man , thank you .
Hate him with a passion, he thinks he is so good but is actually a pathetic so called journalist
Oh, I don't know ..... I can't see that White is in "Farnell's pocket".
White's job, for a commercial radio station, is to attract listeners. And the way he does this is to create controversy and conflict - it makes for good drama; good drama always attracts listeners.
The more listeners his show gets, the more advertising revenue his employer gets. That's all there is to it really.
Question: If you expect good journalism, why are you listening to TalkShite?
One thing I found out on Saturday was that it isn’t Thomas who always likes tweets . When he was being interviewed at the side of the pitch in front of me I put something on Twitter and Thomas Liked it before the interview was over ! Must be his wife or Business associate.

There’s always someone who has to spoil everything!
Happy now, are you happy now, you’ve ruined everyone’s fantasy;)

He's busy doing lots of other good an important things. Getting up in the early hours (during the UK working day) and spending 5 hours a day (not a year) are examples of his commitment, drive and passion.
Has JW finally realised the story is now how brilliant a job TS is doing (and not the complete non-story re the ownership he was trying to sensationalise)?

Yes, I think he realised that spinning lies for Farnell is a dead end where as being mates with a future premier league club owner who's willing to come on his show is much better.
I think Jim White is viewing us and Thomas as a good news worthy journey that we have set out on, into the bargain, we somehow seem to have snared Simon Jordan to come along for the ride as well. Well done Thomas, so far it’s a job well done.😎 I get the idea that they both find Thomas an unusual and likeable, trustworthy character and I expect to hear him on TalkSport a lot more in the future. I hope I have this right! 🤞🤞🤞

The morals and consistency of a jelly fish
I don't think TS will want to be 'mates with him. That said, he seems such a nice gent, he wouldn't not get on with him. But he must have a ruthless streak to be so successful.
Simon Jordan on the other hand - by that I mean (and am surprising myself yet again re SJ), I could imagine SJ being mates with.
Good if JW has changed tack and still not banging the drum and spinning lies
Funny thing I’ve noticed about JW is that I get more annoyed with the things he ‘doesn’t’ say than things he actually does say......if you get my drift.
