It'll be curious to see if either team makes a signing before the 4th, what with the Transfer Window only opening on the Saturday so any new signings wouldnt have been eligible. Of course there is this rule on the EFL website but seeing this is neither the Championship, or that either team are close to having played twenty three games then you have to argue if it'll apply... God I'm so skeptical on this thread!! In the Championship division, Match round 23 is currently scheduled for 2 January 2021 and there is a strong likelihood that some fixtures will be moved to 3/4 January 2021 to accommodate TV selections In order to ensure that all Clubs are treated equitably for Match round 23, the League will withhold confirmation of registration where applications are lodged on the morning of Saturday 2 January 2021, until after completion of match round 23, so Clubs selected for TV will not gain an advantage over the majority of Clubs who would play at 3pm on the Saturday
The five players in question will all be monitored in the build-up to Monday's match. What's this mean then if they are not up to fitness the game gets put back a couple more days.

Agreed... Surely if they produce a negative test result then they can play the moment the two week isolation is done - If they do and arent fit enough they're surely just classed as an injury!!

I think them 5 players tested positive. My thinking is if you give one team an extra 2 days, surely other teams should have the option. Or are they doing this on a team by team basis. Also what happens if they want to put a game back 2 days and the other team says no because theyve got a game 3 days later.

Exactly.......so why didn't we play Peterborough this week. The self isolation period is now 10 days. Our match with them was on the 11th day but they still called it off.
There are rules...... and then there are EFL rules.

Any chance of you talking about something other than this? Get over it.
Hull have not said anything so we have to assume the game will go ahead. As we didn't play midweek either, hopefully it will happen and then having the Accrington game brought forward to Friday should help up for our next midweek Tuesday fixture
However, it's impossible to plan that far ahead as there are bound to be more postponements. Burton have played the joint highest number of games (21) but as they've lost their last 4 probably wished they'd been cancelled!

Hey golfaddick. We all agree with you about Peterborough. Go to bed now or watch some golf on TV.
Blimey, who rattled your respective cages.
Just bringing up the point that games are called off due to players having to self-isolate for a number of days, but teams then seeming to have carte blanche around what time period they can impose.
But, seeing as no-one seems to mind then we'll just run with it.....

Hull wanted to move the game back a day, but we said no. I assume they'll be over all their Covid absences by then, but wanted more time to train before the game

Too fucking right. Let's give you an extra day to get up to speed. Erm no thanks.
Teams are playing when they bloody want at the moment arent they... Can we ask for the last game of the season to be moved later than everyone else
Just in case we're going for the title / promotion / play-offs so we know what is needed to achieve whatever?
Can we ask the EFL to move our games forward as we are rubbish when we have a week to prepare for a game. And it reduces the chance of players getting injured in training

We all do mind but we have to run with it unless we get together and take EFL staff hostage, form a breakaway league, or something. Which revolutionary action do you suggest?

Not anymore, their next 2 games are now off, thats Ipswich on the 4th and Sunderland on the 9th
Sunderland last played on the 15th December, a match they should have cancelled. Their 4 next games were all cancelled, they play Northampton on the 2nd, but their game vs Fleetwood on the 9th has now gone as well
So between Wimbledon on the 15th December and Wimbledon on the 16th January, they will have played ONE league match

With their incredible form at the moment, you imagine they wouldn't have done this unless they had to
It was also one of my score predictions!
The league season has to be extended in the wake of increased Covid-19 cases, says Accrington manager John Coleman.
The League One club has had six games postponed because of the virus and played just 16 - three fewer than more than half the sides in the division.
