Tony Pulis sacked by Sheff Wed

Tony Pulis sacked tonight after just 45 days!!! Unbelievable. Some owners should be nowhere near football.

From what Tony Pulis was saying on quest it never seemed destined to be a long union

Didn't know how long he was going to be there, what the expectation level was, didn't seem enthusiastic in the slightest and questioned the playing staffs commitment

I for one welcome our new cap wearing overlord.
  • I genuinely feel for their fans.

Because how long are they going to get away with it?

Feck me what a shower of shit.

These people. It's a fucking disgrace what these crook owners are allowed to get away with.

I cant fucking stand Sheffield Wednesday normally, even before all that cheating shit came up, but we more than anyone should be able to recognise and empathise with having dogshit owners.
  • Bizarre. Certainly things haven't improved on the pitch since Pulis took over,  but what were the owners expecting?

Hope they get the relegation they deserve, shortly followed by a Chansiri sale. They can rebuild in League One with new owners like the rest of us.

Pulis is a top bloke so shame to see it go wrong there. But what did he expect
  • Pulis is 63 and has been managing since 1992 - he knew this was a short term gig and gets to fill up his pension pot nicely.

Since doing the business at Stoke he has been sacked by WBA, Boro and now Wednesday - this will probably be his last job.
  • Quite telling that in the club statement the owner says "there are also other issues which have had a bearing on this decision".

My guess would be that Pulis has told the owner a few home truths about the absolute shit show going on, and that (along with dire results) has seem him sacked.

  • Reading some of the comments on owls talk, it's literally us under Roland's ownership.

"we have a complete and utter irrational lunatic running the club into the ground"

    "
This chairman is a danger to the future of this football club"

    "
This is our club, our history and our time, this man is ruining everything about our club."

    "
I'm done until Chansiri leaves. I suspect many feel the same"

    "
There are kids running street gangs with more structure than Wednesday"

Big Sam, Colin Wanker, Tony defence Pulis, Woy Hodgson are Old fashioned football men who need, crave, the day to day involvement of football despite all of then being able to retire, relax and spend more time with their money.
Why do they do it ?

The same reason that I went to 3 games a week watching live football with 200 to 400 other people in late summer and autumn watching 8th and 9th tier with my son (who had lost his Job because of Covid) and we loved the involvement of getting to know the local part time team and the 100% commitment of players, staff and volunteers. As well as you can when social distancing.
Then in early November, games were halted, in the lower steps of the Football pyrimid, some of these clubs will die or have to rely on charity to continue.

Back to watching Charlton on Valley pass, and the highs but mainly lows of the sheer frustration of watching Charlton, who are the Greatest football team in Europe (cut down on the drugs Sam) But it's not reflected in the results and League 1 continues to haunt us despite our crazy, Danish American, new knight in shining armour owner. Yes we wanted a wage freeze when we had tight owners. No not now, when the best thing to gush out of Colorado since the river is willing to fund our way to European elite football. Field of dream stuff I know, but I'm sure that was the gist of it !

Pulis will get another job in football because that's what football folk do. It's a drug and we should know as we argue the toss about the team we love and hate in equal measures.

Blimey, when I sang "I'm Charlton till I die" back in the day I just assumed there was a buy out clause.

    There ain't.

I feel sorry for Pulis it's never nice to lose your job.
As for the massives I really hope the cheating scumbags go down with a mountain of dept.
No sympathy for their fans either as most of them are total bellends.

A lot of their fans also acted all billy big bollocks when we alerted them to the incompetence of Meire and subsequently when anything was posted on social media about how ludicrous the points deduction shambles was.

I think a few times I put stuff up on Twitter highlighting Meire’s incompetence, and all I got was replies about sour grapes.  One bloke even said she was doing well and I didn’t know what I was talking about....

The points deduction tweets I referenced were only ever about fairness and how they’ve been grossly favored at the expense of Wigan, don’t think I even referenced us.  Then you get all the standard replies about me being a Charlton fan, I only want the deduction so we can stay up etc. For the majority of the fans they don’t deserve it, but for the odd few who were so entrenched in defending their actions, I hope they enjoy the continued turmoil and nonsense that’s going on up there

What do you get if you play tug-of-war with a pig ? Pulled Pork.

  • I’ve been told players have not been paid. Not sure if that’s true, but imagine that’s a contributory factor to Pulis leaving if true.
