Response from my Silkeborg supporting mate...

”He doesn’t have much range in his shots, but has a habit of nearly always being at the right place at the right time and once he pulls the trigger no keeper in the world is going to save it not even Schmeichel. That’s why we nicknamed him the “Minister of quick shooting” or “the Gunslinger” and was thus the top scorer for SIF that season.”
Spooky.....that’s my nickname from the missus.

He’ll get one of these ridiculous new work permits just on Midtjylland champions league group stage qualification
Nope, that would be a visa. The OS is explicit that he’s applied under the EU Settlement Scheme. That’s the successor to EU Freedom of Movement. To be eligible, all the EU national has to have done is move to the UK before 31 December 2020 - they do not even require a job at the time they moved given that they had a 3 month period within which to seek work in the UK, and can even return to their home country once they have applied.

Does anyone have any evidence of him seeking work in the uk within the 3 months before 31 December 2020, such as for example, pictures of him in the Directors box at the AFC Wimbledon game? ;)

So the approval should be a formality, hence announcing the deal. It’s the kind of thing I can see someone like David Ornstein or The Price of Football podcast picking up on, as it is playing the system somewhat!

Anyway, welcome Ronnie, I expect big things

Here’s his FM20 profile, because why not. Proper poacher.

Scores low in marking & tackling. Will soon be dropped because he doesn't chase back enough......

Excited about this signing the only downside is that it's another player we need to get fit. I feel like LB is going to be talking about players getting up to speed all season.

But I like how aggressive he looks and he seems like the kind of goalscorer who can pull a goal out of nothing. Bit like BWP used to.
  • Welcome Ronnie.
I'd still like to see us offer Bogle plus cash for Joe Piggot.

We offered Bogle plus cash for Joe Pigott but they turned it down.

We offered Boggle plus Cash for Joe Pigott and they are considering the offer, even though they feel we might be playing games with them.

We tried that. They said if we want them to take Bogle off us we're going to have to increase the money!!

Looks like a very good signing. Just need Bowyer to set up the team to attack and create chances.

always get a bit more excited when we sign a striker than a player in any other position in the hope we've found a goalscoring gem (as generally they are like rocking horse sh*t)....got a good feeling about Ronnie and like the look of him.

Welcome to the club, would love to see him and Maddison get a decent run of games together now.

You joke, but I honestly think - given that he’s rubbish and his full wages would count towards their salary cap - that Bogle probably has negative transfer value for another L1 team.

I just had a controversial thought.

Is Bowyer going to drop Washington for Schwarz, and not Bogle?

We know that LB likes playing with a big target man up front because it's always either Chuks/Bogle + Washington or Smyth. And Schwarz would seem to fall into the latter category of player.

Gallen has said that they want to try and put some pace up front though, Bogle/Schwartz as a pairing wouldn't bring much speed.

Now that we have a proven goal scorer at last albeit not in english football (yet)hopefully bowyer will change the game plan & aim to attack & get balls into the box. I won't hold my breath but live in hope.

I think we’ll go 433. Maddison and Washington either side of Schwartz. The good thing about playing that is it could switch to a diamond at times too.

Welcome Rocket Ronnie. You are going to love playing against some of the sunday league defences that teams like Wimbledon and Swindon have in this league.

Brøndby v FC Copenhagen. Proper rivals in Danish football. The fans can’t stand each other.
  • Honestly hope he handles the pressure because we need him to perform. Plenty of experience but we all know English football is very different to that of Danish.

As much as I hate Brøndby, it’s nothing compared to what I think of FC Copenhagen, who only has existed since 1992.
The merger between two old football clubs from 1876 and 1903. 🤮
  • ‘The Gunslinger’

    Quality.

You call him what you like I'm plumping for the Minister of Quick Shooting. So much more descriptive. A bit like Frank Nouble is the Perminant Under-Secretary for Being Useless.

    Welcome Ronnie.

Looks like he is a genuine and consistent goal scorer .. forget work rate and tracking back, keep him up front to score goals !!! .. let's hope the new employment laws (post Brexit) allow him to get a work visa.. welcome Ronnie and all the best during your time at CAFC  :)
