Was just here on trial I think. Saw him against Welling and looked decent but couldn't get a work permit I believe?
Yes looked decent saw him in friendly against New Zealand and was given a feature in the 1st league match of season program, before his work permit was refused.

Pretty certain we never signed Goss, are you thinking of Niemi? Though sure he was here for longer than that.

The Japanese guy, Alex, I think.  Again, a work permit issue even though he was a full international.

Don't know why Stephen Hughes popped into my head this morning but got me thinking of others that never played. There must be loads.
    David Tuttle
    Luke Daniels
    Chris Maxwell
    Emeka Ifejiagwa
    Juan Cobian
    Paul Rachubka

    Others?

I don’t remember us signing Daniels. Who is ifejiagwa
Daniels was only here for a month I think. Ifejiagwa was a Nigerian centre back signed when in the premier league. Saw him play for the reserves and looked alright but there was some issue which meant he had to leave.
He was not an international and therefore we could not get a work permit for him to play.. We did loan him out to Brighton where he scored the winner against Barnet. Then we announced he had to leave due to not getting a work permit, how he was allowed to play for Brighton in league games was really bizarre at least, and breaking various rules at worst.

Have a vague memory that John Fashanu was his.agent

Yup, he wanted to move south.  Steve Claridge?

Chris Malkin signed, to beat the transfer deadline, then failed a medical and didn't play for either team the next day.
  • I was going to say Bally Smart but it seems he played in one League Cup game, so I'll have to say Kadell Daniel instead.

    Martin Christensen
    Dimitar Mitov

I'm guessing there will be tonnes of youngsters that have signed pro terms that never played in the end

Steve Barbé. A Belgian who spent one season here on loan in 1999. A midfielder who was supposed to have a very hard shot.

Daniels; Goalkeeper on loan from West Brom... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Daniels
    Ifejiagwa: Nigerian Defender... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emeka_Ifejiagwa
Ifejiagwa we signed before sorting out his work permit for some reason, then he had the application turned down

Joe Ledley, the amount of £1.50 jagers pre match made it easier to watch his attempt to impersonate a footballer and one of championship standard.
