  • This is the first time this season I think that not only will we not go up automatically, we will not even finish in the top 6.

The first half wasn't too bad but that second half was abysmal. Clueless. Pathetic. Call it what you want.

Something is seriously not right. Are the players worse than we think? Looking at some of the names we have - established internationals, Championship experienced - is it hard to believe that is right.

So is it the manager? Well, it's becoming increasingly hard to think otherwise. This continual chopping and changing can't be helping. The last 3 games we have played a diamond, a flat 4-4-2 and now tonight 4-3-3. Presumably on Tuesday it will be a 3-5-2. For heavens sake, bowyer just pick a formation and play your best players.

And tonight, I just don't understand taking Washington off for Aneke. Surely he should have been playing up front with Aneke.

Schwartz must be wondering just what on earth he has walked into. Bogle must be pissing himself laughing. And TS must be watching this and thinking I've put £10 million pounds into this club. WTF is going on.
Couldn't agree more... I know some fans want to keep LB but surely you cant keep defending the indefensible... There is something not right in that dressing room!

Nothing to add that I havent been saying for a few weeks now

Individuals keep costing us... Bowyer cant and shouldnt have be making every single decision for them

Every week its Bowyer should be doing this, should be doing that

Managers get sacked, players continue on as though they've done fuck all wrong when they need to take a large amout of responsibility
Alright. Then who was it that got these players in? Was that not Lee Bowyer? Didn't make very good choices then did he!? I thought his mantra was to bring in players who could be captains. Players who could take the responsibility. Well, it's not working out too well then is it!?
For me the blame falls with him. But apologists can carry on all day long because that's just what they do. And, you sir, have turned into one of the biggest apologists on this site.
Thanks much appreciated - Always love getting a label me :)

You don’t care if your player is hurt ? FFS...you knew what Maddison was like why did you sign him?
  • I'd take any one of them 3 in the Sky studio as our new manager , they couldn't do worse
  • Really weird game. We weren’t completely awful. We created when we sent the ball wide and had some decent chances today. Their keeper made at least four excellent saves, there were some good last ditch blocks and one cleared off the line at the end. If just one of those had gone in then it would have been a different game. Unfortunately we came up against a good keeper performance for a very good team. Accrington are a good side and just because they’re Accrington we shouldn’t pretend that’s not the case. We had 9 shots on target to their 3 but they were more clinical. Aside from that though, our big problem is that we’re absolutely rank in transition. It didn’t help that our proper holding midfielders were out but we had three centre mids who wanted to get forward with every attack and it left our back four exposed. They had a lot of time to hit us on the counter but they didn’t take great advantage. In the end they did us with a terrible defensive error and an instance where we had a few chances to clear our lines and didn’t.

There’s been real doom on here before and during the game but I don’t really see why. We set up in a good shape with a decent line up. There was a lot of weeping about Williams and Maddison not starting but when they came on we completely lost our shape and went to pieces and let them back in for their goal. Aneke also didn’t offer enough when he came on. We lacked cohesion and I think the best thing we can do now is stick with the shape and a similar line up and try and get some familiarity between the players. It’s a disappointing result but we weren’t actually awful against a decent side. We really need our better players back because the players we have fit aren’t slotting together well
I'm sorry but we were awful in the second half - plain embarrassing.
  • Blimey even Paul Cook calls Sheffield Wednesday a "massive" club. He must be desperate for the job!

Woaaaaaaaaooooowwwww... Bows lost it, how can you scapegoat Maddisson!?!?
If I was Maddison I would be livid.

It’s Bowyer’s job to prepare a motivated team - it they wanted it more then take some responsibility for that.

I get the impression that the dressing room is turning toxic, the players are just going through the motions.
If you’re backing someone as flakey as Maddison over Bowyer, I question your morals
  • Yes another loss and bad performance but listen

We managed to get this team and squad assembled with no money, rushed and with a wage cap in a matter of weeks having for 2 years consistantly
    Lost our best player

bowyer will have known it wld be a struggle and to be fair evn on that good run we had kept down plying it saying we are not where we need to be and shouldnt get carried away

clearly we havent got good enough players to be at or close to the top right now

in a normal season with no cap and with  gd owner like we now have we wld have a semi overhaul and add at least to the defense and midfield but simply we cant due to this poxy cap

a few months ago we nearly didnt have a club to even support and i think a few people need to chill out and realise that
yes we aint playing great and have some sub standard players and yes bowyer has made mistakes but quite simply just to know we have a squad team and management to follow for years to come im happy with and wouldnt have it anyother way

people have short memories and bowyer has worked magic before lets not jump the gun here with all thats gone on to get us in this situation
I am in agreement with you, grateful to have a club still. Maybe that's why I'm not as angry as others that we ain't top 2. I would be ok in L1 for another season if TS and LB have a plan for the future.
    Unfortunately I see no plan.
  • Jesus, Bowyer has just unleashed fury on Maddison on Valley pass.

He was free and he thought he could turn him
  • Well, thanks for the memories Marcus, cracking goal on boxing day 🤷‍♂️

  • Beaten by the better team , we are just disjointed and got worse with the substitutions. Chuks did ok but the midfield is woeful.

He did... He jumped into next week, was bloody embarrassing!!

He picked out Williams for it at Shrewsbury
Maddison practically jumped into my timezone

Don't know who Bowyer thinks he is. Slags off every fucking player under the sun, never takes any blame for himself.

Even finds time to tell us we would have been better with Watson and Pratley!!! Would we fuck

Maddison did jump out of a tackle though.
Before the “injury” I thought he looked like he couldn’t be bothered.

Nicely written post Garrymanilow, can only hope that we can get it together ASAP
