It’s a lot better than when I was “abroad” watching it a year+ back when there were no replays , no time and score in the corner, the commentary was completely out of sync with the pictures , you kids don’t know you’re born ffs
and as for you heretics, fuck off with your Steve Brown shit , it’s Curbishley all the way from me .
Live TV coverage of the game. Tick. Knowledgeable commentators. Tick. In-match replays of major incidents. Tick. Pre match preview show. Tick. In depth half-time analysis and replays. Tick. In depth post-match analysis and replays. Tick. Post match interviews. Tick.
All that for a tenner is absolutely excellent value. As someone said earlier, less than the cost of a couple of pints and something any number of people in your house can watch for the price.
(I still think I'm going to be "Whooshed" here.)
I’m not sure if it really does equate to good value.
It amounts to about £50 a month for 10 hours of content - circa half of which is not very good quality (the away match footage).
Where else can you watch the match for cheaper? And compare it to the price of a match ticket.
Can't really compare it to a match ticket. Though I fear someone on a Sky zoom call does so every week.
I purchased the stream for tomorrow night about an hour ago and not received an email or seen a debit to my credit card account so don’t know whether It’s my error or not. Anybody else had a problem with purchasing the stream this evening ?

Go into your Valley Pass profile in the top right hand corner and go to subscriptions. That will tell you if the game for tomorrow has been purchased. Sometimes the emails can be held up

Thanks for that. It seems I successfully purchased the stream after all
Okay, you might not have been able to pick out the individual hairs in Johnny Williams’ beard but I always knew where the ball was and which Charlton player was which. It was hardly Iike it had been deliberately pixelated to save innocent eyes from seeing something unsavoury (might have actually improved things in recent matches). It was perfectly watchable and when you you factor in all the ‘extras’ we’ve only been treated to since Sandgaard took over, I’d hardly call £10 a “complete rip off”.
People should remember that with away matches the coverage of the match is not done by the club. It is the away club that arranges the camera coverage. The studio pre match and post match is do e by Charlton.

That was what my original point was focused on. The should be minimum technical standards imposed on clubs / the league in providing camera coverages of the actual game now its a major demand / income generator.
The additional stuff Charlton are doing is fantastic and probably a market leader.
I would be very surprised if any other League One club had a Sky Sports anchor doing pre-match, half time and post match interviews and with high profile ex-players/managers.
The. Charlton produced bits are very high quality. Agree that in game coverage should be above a minimum standard. I’d suggest that if it isn’t or there aren’t concrete plans to get it there, streaming money should be withheld from those clubs.
I suppose at the same time we should remember that iFollow was never supposed to cater for so many people and be such an important tool for EFL teams
Initially it was setup just for International Supporters, even then they didnt think about those who'd use a VPN and so probably expected such a small turnover of viewers
Having multi cameras etc. when iFollow started out probably made the cost a bit pointless.
Maybe its something they need to look into expanding during the summer as a bit like WFH I'd be surprised if streaming isnt here to stay
I'm not saying anyone is being ungrateful for iFollow being there but you also have to wonder what the EFL (especially League One and League Two) would look like at the moment if iFollow hadnt been available prior to COVID - Of course it might have been something thrown together in haste during the lockdown when we had no Sport, or we may have free streams with SKY providing the coverage, but with no iFollow revenue that would have damaged your Accrington's of the EFL even worse meaning that the two mentioned Leagues may even have been put on hold...
It's good value. Don't know about tonight but I imagine Steve Brown's rate is a fraction of Curbishley's, given that he has been doing world feeds for premier league games and all that.
Be interesting to see if this option remains after crowds are back. Obviously you can't distinguish between 'home' and 'away' fans so would it reduce crowds a great deal? I often don't go to home evening games in winter so I'd be happy to pay another tenner (on top of the season ticket) to watch whilst indoors.
If the streaming option continues when normality resumes it will kill football as we know it. Streaming may be an option if games sell out or for overseas supporters, i cannot understand how people call themselves supporters when they cannot be bothered to get out of their armchairs to support the team, rain or shine, good form or bad form.
I contacted TS about a 23 game half season VP match streaming pass for 100 quid. He said good idea but not heard anything. Might be worth contacting the club or TS to suggest this as I will not pay 10 quid a game and with 2 games a week coming up.

Actually forget that they should pay me a 100 quid to watch that shite
