Honestly not that bothered about TAA not going. We probably have the best depth of Right backs in world football. Would prefer we have a solid back 4, especially as the tournament progresses.

Agree with this. He's a good RB for games against the likes of Scotland where we should dominate possession, but against someone like Spain/France I'd prefer a RB who defends better.
Southgate waiting to name his final squad, instead choosing to name a ‘provisional squad’
Might be me being cynical but I don’t love that move.
He's naming it tomorrow though isnt he?
Bit worrying if he cant decide on 26-players by this stage let alone 23-players.
The two friendlies against Austria and Romania wont include Man City and Chelsea players (at least for the first game) due to the Champions League but we're screwed if he doesnt know the spine of his team.

No he’s delayed it. Wants to name a provisional squad which then gets cut down to 26 players.

I'd very much hope he's got 22/23 certainties but don't see any harm in having 30 players with 7 fighting for 3/4 spots. Could also be a fitness thing, few players not certain to be fit so getting them in to take a look is no bad thing.

Need Maguire fit, he's probably the most important defender we have, given that all the others are probably replaceable. It's a bit of a concern that he's still injured.
I dont mind it, a bit odd though for those called up who will then be left behind.
TAA debate, i'd actually take Walker as RCB / RB, James and TAA , personally dont think TAA has done enough for England and feel Reece James has been the best for England in recent times but cant not take TAA, also by taking all 3 we have the option to go 352/ 4231. No Maguire id probably play Mings, hes had a fantastic season and has a bit of pace too. Would much rather him than Eric by name and my nature Dier
Feels a bit tough if Bamford misses out , some good players will be dropped. Its actually quite a nice change we look to have a fantastic squad with some raw talent and Kane leading the line (please dont jynx it)
Ben White has been included in Southgate's provisional squad.
Guess he'll be the backup in case Maguire doesnt make it
Not against him being in the team to be honest, did well with Leeds in the Championship last year, scored a very good goal for a Centre-Back in the last game of that season unfortunately... Remember Leeds wanted him back for the season just gone along with a few other teams (Liverpool perhaps?) but Brighton said no.
Think he shows the promise to be an England player, just maybe isnt quite there yet to be fully considered.
If TAA doesn’t go that’s just ridiculous. The type of players we have available to us means we might as well just go and attack the Euro’s and there is not a better full-back available at crossing the ball. If James goes instead of him it’s embarrassing in my opinion. What can James do that TAA can’t?
26 man squad makes it a bit easier and having TAA will at least allow us to play a couple of different formations and has played regularly in a top team in the biggest competitions. James has not done that or done that to any kind of level that TAA has shown previously.
Inthink trippier arguably same or better cross and free kick! Therein lies the problem.
Such a hard choice. But james and Walker can play in a back three and trips can defend.
Trents last game on sunday didnt help! James’ cup final did help.
I almost hope Southgate picks Alexander-Arnold just to put a stop to this tiresome debate about whether or not he should go. He's a right back. We have four exceptional right backs to choose from at the moment, and even a few like Wan-Bissaka and Lamptey who wouldn't be out of place at all. Our tournament won't be decided on which of these right backs play , but it seems to dominate every single discussion about the squad. If Southgate doesn't pick him and we don't do well that will be used as a stick to beat him with even though the odds of our tournament being decided solely by a right back are pretty low.
This is just what the English media does though, and it spreads to the general public. Not that long ago the big thing was people arguing about Mount and Grealish (someone told me I had 'shit in my eye' I think it was for saying Mount is a decent player..) but now that Mount has had a great season as Chelsea's player of the year that debate is boring, so it's onto the next manufactured controversy. If it wasn't about TAA I'm sure the media's target would be Pickford or attacking Southgate for playing Sterling ahead of Rashford. It's relentless, and then the media wonder why the players don't go into tournaments full of confidence

Do we think he will get a look-in for the England squad? Or will Dier be put in simply because he's been there before?
Ezri Konsa must consider himself very unlucky
Ramsdale, White, James, Phillips, Greenwood, Watkins, Lingard.
The 7 that will be dropped:
Ramsdale, White, TAA, Ward-Prowse, Saka, Watkins, a major player that's injured in the Europa League or Champions League final.
Ramsdale
Godfrey, James (unless Maguire isn't fit)
Ward-Prowse, Lingard (unless Phillips isn't fit)
Watkins, Saka
I think Ward-Prowse will be kept if Henderson isnt fit
I think one of Godfrey or White will be kept if Maguire isnt fit
Trent, White, Godfrey (I hope not as I’ve got him at 10s).
Greenwood, Watkins & Saka
