Now this might just be a wind up but, in response to questions as to why Joe Denly hasn't played in the last two warm up games, a suggestion has been put forward that he has agreed to sign for Surrey.

@cantersaddick Have you heard anything about this?

Edit - this has been confirmed a wind up from someone on the Facebook group!
As you've said. Complete bull. He would hardly be likely to take the number 3 slot off Amla.
Denly can bat anywhere in the top 5. And judging from your recent match you could do with him:

    Sussex: 382 for 5 declared
    Surrey: 48 for 6
You're not wrong. We have for the current match added Amla Burns Pope and Foakes. Our batting straightaway looks a class above.

    Surrey 284-12 88.4
    Sussex CCC 382-5 (dec)

Looks like your batting needs bolstering if you still can't score as much as Sussex (only losing 5 wickets) with players batting twice
As I said that was before those 5 were back in the squad. We also had a significantly weakened bowling linup for that game. Completely different side playing moddlesex as we speak.

    Ah, the one Middx won?

Hardly a game where you win or lose. Agreed before the start both sides bat 90 overs then bith sides bat 45 on the last day. We drafted in a number of different batsmen for the 3rd innings and addionsl bowlers for the 4th. I watched a bit. I'd describe it as a solid showing against a strong side

That's a seriously strong bowling line-up, no wonder Northants didn't choose to bat!

Couple of interesting things - the Northants keeper is standing up to the opening bowler to keep Crawley honest and the 4th slip is wearing a helmet!

Meanwhile Derbyshire are 7-3 with all three dismissed bats failing to trouble the scorers although du Plooy did last 22 balls.

Good to see Surrey's all star batting line up have already lost two wickets. And guess who is batting at 4 - someone called Ollie Pope. Hope he doesn't get a nosebleed!

Crawley out caught behind off the "youngster" (well he is compared to our Steveo) 40 year old Gareth Berg

Maybe Denly should have played in the last 2 warm up matches...

Good concentration from Cox so far. Must be tricky to bat in early April.
