Just hope we give a decent account of ourselves and Stevens contributes positively.
It he plays. Their concern has always been that he isn't as effective with the white ball and they have to hide him in the field. There is no comparison between him and Robinson for example. That said, I think they will still go with him because he has the capability of hitting big and it will then just be whether they play Stewart or Logan.
    Stevens and Stewart in

Darren Stevens the oldest to play in Finals Day at 45 yrs 141 days

  • Anyone know why Alex Blake is not playing?
    Injured arm last weekend

It's the ECB's idea of helping climate change

    Broken arm apparently.
  • DBD enjoying himself, 31 off 13 balls.

    Kent 44-1 after 4 overs, Denley 1* (2)

As an aside I wonder whether Archie Lenham is related to former Sussex father and son Les Lenham and Neil Lenham. If so how many times have 3 generations played cricket at first class or equivalent level? George Headley, Ron Headley and Dean Headley is the only example I can think of off the top of my head.
  • Denly has been so out of form this season it's ridiculous

    That answers the first question.

I'll leave it to someone else to answer the three-generation one ...

    😉

At least he didn't waste too many deliveries.

Let's see what Bilbo can do.

He is indeed grandson and son of the gentlemen mentioned. He has a 19 year old brother, Scott, who was in the county age group system but hasn't played for Sussex since turning out for Sussex 2s two years ago

Maybe he can leave us (again) to go to a "bigger" team (Middlesex?). 🤣
  • 59-2 after 7.

    DBD 40* (21) Bilbo 4* (4)

    This season's averages:

    County Championship 17.57
    T20 16.38

His saving grace is his leg spin in white ball. He might well open the bowling

When Denly was batting, I said to my other half that I wasn't expecting him to score many as not in good form! Love Hussain and Atherton talking about Stevo's 'longevity' and how he coached them and is still playing long after them!
  • From our win in 2007.
  • What does everyone think we will get? And what is a good total
  • What does everyone think we will get? And what is a good total
Think 180 is a good score but fear we will get 150. Depends on how long DBD lasts
  • Oh bugger!
  • Throwing it away.
  • Didn't think Cox touched that...
  • It's okay, God's in.....
