I know it's not universally popular but I do like the Danhausen stuff, yes it's silly and weird but that's been a part of wrestling since the beginning.
I definitely don't want to see everyone start doing it and it's possible that the joke will run it's course but I'm enjoying it for what it is.
I'm enjoying it, but there's a danger that they'll over expose him while the going is good.
That's my concern, although to be fair they actually have a decentish record when judging the pure comedy guys - R Truth was around for absolutely ages with a comedy gimmick albeit he was incredibly talented at it and I don't know if Danhausen would have that kind of longevity anyway.

Helps that his first program is with The Miz, who is absolutely golden as a smarmy heel who can get his comeuppance over and over again

I've all but given up with WWE these days.  Lost interest in it a year or so ago. I still skim through Raw & PPV's but can't get into it,

I've heard a lot of good things about AEW recently so might give that another go

The Miz is superb. Shame they put the belt on him too early.

Nikki Cross and Big Damo have bought Progress Wrestling. 😃

Their PPV at the weekend, Double or Nothing, was absolutely superb all round.

I can't get into either right now, too many injuries and stories dragging on in WWE and every time I get interested in AEW again they then go and do something dumb like trying to drown eachother in a fishtank or injecting eachothers tongues or ripping out eachothers piercings etc. and it just puts me off

Double or Nothing over the past weekend might one of the best PPVs AEW has ever put on.

I watch clips on Instagram. This week's best ever show had Osprey no selling Samoa Joe's strikes and Joe kicking out of a hidden blade at a 1 count. The comments were mostly about WWE.

AAA has a mask v mask match this weekend on YouTube that should be good. Hopefully will lead to a proper Chad Gable push, but that's probably unlikely. 😕

It was a very good show. I understand you seemingly despise AEW but that doesn't mean everyone else does. I have no interest in seeing them run back Bloodline lore or have funerals for gingerbread men but some people do, which is fair enough, I'm not going to hate on you for what you choose to enjoy

Hope it works out for them. Used to attend lots of indy shows like Progress and RevPro but with WWE/AEW/NJPW signing the majority of the good wrestlers, and the whole Speaking Out stuff, it just feels like British Wrestling is dead, attendances for Progress, Rev Pro and ICW have absolutely fallen off a cliff. Saw a clip of Rev Pro running a show at Morecambe FC'S ground of all places that had about 30 people there. Not great...

Exactly my point, construction criticism of AEW is met with comments about WWE.

Mask v Mask was fantastic, as was the rest of the show. Only the tag match was a let down IMO.

Morecambe became the home of FWA? Ever go to any of their shows? First British indy i got into.

Fantastic! But it would have been a lot better to do it in Montreal than Saudi Arabia.

I don't get the hype around him at all, he's mediocre on the mic and in the ring, and his story recently hasn't been compelling, it's been downright weird and a bit sad.

Hope it's nothing more than a quick "thanks for 14 years" and they move on swiftly at summerslam...

Well I don't think anyone expected that to happen in the raw main event

Not sure why the Smackdown title was defended on Raw.

Night 1 of Summerslam was OK.

The main highlight being the performance of Nick Aldis. He’s now going back to being a GM after this, but he definitely looks the part of someone who could and should be a main roster act full time.

Morning Glory by Oasis for entrance music too!

I can see Aldis popping up in a Rumble sometime or doing another PLE here and there  but don't see him being a regular fixture.

The HIAC was a bit of a let down. The cell/cage aspect made basically no difference at all.

He's only 39 so I'm surprised he's let himself be "on the shelf" for 3 years as it is, should be in his prime as a wrestler right now tbh

I still remember his "debut" on TV on Gladiators all those years ago

Other than HIAC, thought night 1 was decent - watching night 2 as I type, no spoilers but KO!!!

Night 2 much much better than Night 1... but I still don't like how nakedly commercial making it a 2 Night event was in the first place.

    He had the Wolf role!

Talking of age, Punk needs to become an attraction now rather than involved in the title picture.

Loads of empty seats both nights. A mix of poor creative and ridiculous prices.

How shall we improve creative? Bring back Baron Corbin and have him beat one our most popular hot and coming stars. 🤔

I know it’s an American product but this over the top sponsor/celebrity stuff just takes away from the product so much. Since TKO came in it has been horrific.

Great moment for Chad Gable last night. Good match, emotional scenes afterwards, family in the ring, promo etc. Oh but what about the bloke dressed as a dog who is the mascot for some root beer brand, got to shoehorn him in there ffs!

If Chad was as big as his dad he would've been a multiple time world champion by now.

'Mania was even worse for advertising. It takes you out of the action. I couldn't watch it live without a fast forward button.

I watch Raw & Smackdown at x1.5 speed on Netflix, it’s a chore otherwise meaning I have to leave them a few days so they add the speed watch - watch too soon & you can’t fast forward so you have to watch at normal speed & it’s still got the We’ll be Right Back advert included
