No idea why you'd drop Deji
But you've been watching the games.
  • "Albie is improving all the time, he's young and sometimes it's good for him to take a step back but he's been impressive in training last few days so deserves his start"
  • Baffled by that team really.

Pearce and Pratley at CB just has mistake written all over it.
Although i'm pleased he's back, it's odd he's putting Morgan back in after him not even being deemed worthy of a spot on the bench the last few games.
    Aneke on the bench again.
  • Northampton are the most direct team in the league and Pratley is bigger than Oshilaja
But he's worse in the air

Oshilaja's been mostly good recently. Bowyer loves an irrational grudge. Pratley is a decent CB at this level but so is Oshilaja
Across the Burton and Blackpool defeats, he was at least partially responsible for three of the five goals we conceded.

Burton equaliser - lost his man at the back post.

Blackpool penalty - allowed his man to get goal side of him and took him down

Blackpool long distance effort - it was his responsibility to come out and charge down the shot but he was standing there doing nothing
Yep, an accident waiting to happen. Pearce and Pratley should be ok unless they get turned, then we will be done for.
  • Is Matthews injured for a while?

Suddenly not so optimistic about this one...

what has Deji done to be abandoned again?

    What????
We seem to have some amnesia issues on CL tonight.
  • That team...another home defeat. 2-1 to mighty Northampton.

You what? The equaliser came from someone getting above Purrington. Nothing to do with Oshilaja at all. That you're reduced to this kind of straight-up lie shows you don't have the material to truly condemn the player
  • How does pratley walk back in again, I love the guy to pieces but there must be players scratching their heads thinking what do I have to do
Purrington is the scapegoat but Pratley can get himself sent off twice in games that we lose, has to miss matches too as a result but all is immediately forgiven.
  • i will be amazed if wse aren't behind by half time
  • Can we just watch this Fortune header from different angles for next 90 minutes?
  • This always pops in to my head when I see Pearce in the team. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=RDzjedLeVGcfE

I think CE is right about the amnesia issues on this site. Go back and watch the highlights.

  • Have they scored yet?

Purrington hasn't been forgiven for Gillingham's winner. It was a truly dreadful, cowardly bit of defending tbf
What a disgusting thing to say.

  • Tenner remaining in pocket. Just can’t get very interested. Was thinking about it till I saw the team but will just follow on here.

Oshilaja may look alright but his lapses in concentration cost goals. That's not good enough. Don't care if we don't see him again.

Washington was pants last week. As was Millar. Both starting.

So strange how Morgan can go from not even getting on the bench to starting. I guess he had a good day in training.
But pratley as the solution? Why not mingi?
Clearly because he's nowhere near this level.
How do we know if we don’t try?

so pratley and Pearce inspire you with confidence?
  • As one Morgan comes in, another goes away...

Prately (central midfielder) in place of Deji - central defender 😬 I know Deji can make the odd mistake but Prately at CB hasn’t worked before. If Deji wasn’t rated then why not make a CB a priority in the Jan transfer window. Put players in their natural positions. Its one of the readons Charlton are not in the top 6.

There is too much rotation of players again. Its the real achilles heel of Lee Bowyer management imo. That & playing players out of position. No continuity. Lee Bowyer makes things hard work.

Yeah, the cross comes into an area that either Amos or Purrington should be able to defend, surely? Oh I don't know

How many times have you seen Mingi play?
Tell us his attributes and why you think he's better than Pratley thanks.
  • Love it that an apprentice found the Palace player notes after the league cup game and gave them to Curbs - and he was savvy enough to save them for the last game, and then showed the players - I bet each player thought ‘right you fuckers, let’s have a game’

Yes which is why in my original post, I said he was partially responsible, not wholly. I'm not Amos or Purrington's biggest fan either but while the keeper should be able to claim the cross or Purrington not get beaten in the air (full back vs centre forward, may be harsh), none of that would've mattered if Deji was able to properly defend the man in the first place.
  • I don't know what Deji could have done there that wouldn't have resulted in a penalty?
