It is also unfair on Wycombe how do they budget and recruit players for next season without knowing what league they are in.
Give Derby a 40 point deduction this season, if they get relegated without it carry it over to next season.
Wycombe owner Rob Couhig has accused Derby of "systematic cheating" and has threatened to sue the Pride Park outfit for millions of pounds if his club are denied a place in the Championship because of the timing of a disciplinary appeal.
Thank goodness that Wycombe are standing up to the injustice of this. What’s happened here is farcical and is absolutely no deterrent to other clubs not to break the rules. Why not break them. The punishment is about the same in financial terms as not being able to sign a young squad player. Absolutely shocking.
Yup ... basically a 100k fine just encourages others to cheat ... it’s a drop in the ocean compared to the potential upside if they get away with it

The bigger the club the less likely they'll be punished.

Funny that it's only Wycombe and last season it was only Boro.
It's almost like the other 70 don't care as long as its not them that miss out. Its almost like they either know they could be caught next or they will need to sell up and can't be too fussy who they sell up to.
This could have all been done and delt with years ago, if the members had the appetite.
I remember so.ething of the sort ,regarding illegal payments to players in the 60's.
Derby were fined 5k but Peterborough who were running away with the 3rd division suffered points deduction which made promotion impossible. Players lost interest and it took years for Peterborough to recover from that.
Don’t forget Swindle Town. They won the playoffs and then got relegated two divisions immediately. reduced to one after appeal.
And Leeds had a 10 and 15 point deduction in 06/07 and 07/08. Southampton and Portsmouth had points deducted.
The rules for points deduction for entering admin and leaving without a CVA are quite clear and applied almost consistently, and fans moan about that. It's the financial "misdemeanours" that aren't and are the issue here.
The EFL should punish them by announcing relegation for last season and a penalty of 20 points for each of the years they cheated. That would then give them a big decision to make. Take it on the chin and get on with it, or go through a painful series of appeals with no certainty of winning, players not wanting to join, and a very crap season with no interest by anyone in their results - and hopefully relegation. Cheating is the lowest you can get in sport. Cheats need to be made an example of.
Basically just saying to teams that they can do whatever they want and get away with it....again. Spineless
That's not technically correct. Teams like Derby and Wednesday can do whatever they want. Teams like us, Wycombe and Barnsley couldn't let our pitch go a week without a cut without getting fined and having points deducted.

What a pointless farce saying the fixtures were interchangeable.
No one is buying it but they still do it. Because the can - unfortunately
EFL are either totally incompetent or bent.
