I was born in January 1948.......so I can at least say I was alive when we were the FA Cup holders! 🥳🏆⚽️
I was conceived but not born when we won the Cup. The worrying thing is that this makes us all glory boys.

It may be that you were conceived as a consequence of the win!
  • It’s just possible that there’s an Addick who has seen all five post war Wembley appearances. I hope so anyway.
  • My Dad was there but sadly died 5 years ago
  • Wasn't Kevin Nolan at the final?
  • I believe It was Kevin’s first game.
  • My birthday when we won the cup, not many Charlton fans can say that 😁

Blimey. Talk about setting up a boy with inflated expectations!

My Mum and her Mum had no interest in football but they both remembered the open top bus.

This looks like it's a view east towards the one-way system (with the Town Hall behind the camera?) except you can't see the top of the church on the far left-hand side of the road.

  • Every Charlton fan knows that we won the
FA Cup in 1947 but the date 26th April 1947 is another thing.

  • I was -36 years old but still remember it, great day out.
  • Some fans on the way to Wembley in 1947.

    Enjoy 😀
  • Taken from the Town Hall tower but enough to show it’s the same road as the Cup Final bus pic
