Fantastic signing for them. Think they’re missing some pace though.0
-
Ipswich must have offered higher wages than Bristol city!!0
-
3 year deal too.0
-
Be interesting to see how he does. Comfortable at Wimbledon. Now a bit of pressure on him at a bigger club.0
-
We are certainly doing our business very quietly...31
-
I'd imagine that Ipswich must be favourites for promotion now; they are certainly chucking the cash about.0
-
You never know for sure, but I think we ought to be looking at finishing above Ipswich and Wigan. Do that and we won't be far off IMO.1

Yes I know. My point was that I don't believe him being at Southampton with Adkins has any relevance at all as to whether he would be a good fit for Charlton right now.Clarky said:
He was on loan at Doncaster last season, 1 goal and 8 assists in 28 games. Didn't play in either of the games against us, can play on both wings.cafcfan1990 said:
Looks like Sims was about 16 when Adkins left Southampton so he'll definitely know of him. Don't believe there's any relevance there at all though, just because Sims was a decent 16 year old at Southampton doesn't mean he'd be right for a League 1 club now.killerandflash said:
Adkins would definitely have taken a keen interest in the academy, even those in the junior age rangesButtleJR said:
He was when Sims was in the youth, I assume he's at least familiar with Adkins as he seems to have a strong focus on bringing players through. Good player, young, would be pleased with him.shirty5 said:
Incorrect. Adkins was not at Southampton when Sims was with the Saints.killerandflash said:
A connection with Adkins from his time at Southampton (which might be how the rumour was created!)RedRobin said:Being linked with Josh Sims who is a free agent.0 -

Been telling you for ages that he wasn't coming to us.
He had several offers and we were not in the frame.3 -
Looks like we aren’t willing to spend our way out of this division . Not sure if that’s Gallen’s policy or TS’s or even if it’s the right policy but those comments of Premier league ( or was it Europe ?) in five years is looking a little bit silly .11

Personally not fussed about Pigott going Ipswich. We have bigger fish to fry and whilst he will probably bag 20 goals next season, Stockley will do the same, having both wouldn’t have worked plus it looks like Ipswich have offered him big money.3

Need to start getting bodies in now. Four weeks till the season starts and our squad is not as strong as some as those that will be in around the top at the end of the season . No point waiting till the 11th hour.1

We were never interested in Pigott looks like Pigott has jumped at the first chance he had after his Reading move was cancelled …13

A team with stripes as well!LargeAddick said:Good signing for Ipswich. However am I right that they have been promoted to The Championship already seeing as those ITK insisted that was where he was going.0 -
"There's been a bit of talk about cafc being in for Josh Sims. Believe the former Southampton winger is training with Portsmouth."

Not a problem, we'll just outbid them on wages like we do with everyone else.2
-
Wouldn't say I'm panicking yet, but business is very slow for a squad that still needs another 9 or 10 players.
Expected another 3 or 4 in by now, but in Nigel Adkins & Steve Gallen we trust.16 -

Given that he's training with Portsmouth, I wonder who the source of this rumour is..!balham red said:
It's on the other forum, from an unnamed source. The guy couldn't even say it was Josh Sims out of respect for his source, but curiously was able to say a number of clues which meant it had to be Josh Sims.Scoham said:
Where did you see this? I can’t see it anywhere on Twitter.RedRobin said:Being linked with Josh Sims who is a free agent.0 -
I’ve already put the feelers out for getting Pratley back on a season long loan. I’ll keep you all updated17

And we are going to have to offer big money if we are going to land any of the bigger fish you say we are after.RedRobin said:Personally not fussed about Pigott going Ipswich. Agreed, I would have been very happy to bring either of Bonne or Pigott backCallumcafc said:Well that’s that then! Pigott, Bonne and Norwood are good options for them to have.
Still time to go, but slightly concerning that it's the 12th July and so far we've only brought in 2 players (MacGillivray and Dobson) who weren't with us last year.3 -

Itk posters.... ? I think my tortoise would be a better bet for a rumour than a lot of these kids in underpants.

I dont think we are going to tbh. NA said last Friday that we would be looking at blooding some of the youngsters. I dont think giving them a run out against Celtic was just to make up the numbers.LargeAddick said:

Premier league within five years is looking a bit optimistic atm…… why say that? All it did was raise expectations!10
