Robinson played him out of position, he should be a number 8 CM.Chunes said:
Oh right... On the Oxford website it says he joined them as an attacking right-back, which is confusing.killerandflash said:
I think you were right first time round! He's a midfielder firstChunes said:I'm not aware of this player, but interesting that Robinson tried to convert him to a right-back. Doesn't sound too happy in the quotes!
ed - Oh I've got that wrong, he joined Oxford as a right-back, and Robinson played him as an 8? I wonder where we're looking to play him then.
Also reading that he's a penalty taker, which we need.
However, Karl Robinson tried to switch him to right-back away from his natural midfield berth.0 -
If Robinson is calling him an 8 he is box to boxish. Or what we would call 20 years ago a "midfielder".Bostonaddick said:Is he a holding midfielder or more of a box to box midfielder? I have no recollection of him from when we played Burton4 -
They make a lot of noise and leave you standing with a nasty smell.Gravesend_Addick said:Rumours are like buses5 -
Like the sound of both of these two...will they happen Is the question1

Shame we don't still have Bowyer here, he could have moved him around a bit.killerandflash said:

Good to see Innis in training with the lads today as per the Jayden stockley round the world tweet posted now. Hopefully see him play this weekend14

And in 20 years we’ll call him an attacking box to box inverted false 8.Cafc43v3r said:

Sorry, just feeling delirious after coming on here to find a couple of actual rumours. And they’ve not been linked with us before.1 -

Was Clare playing at RB for Oxford against us at the Valley? If so, I remember being very impressed with his ability to get up and down the flank, caused problems. Obviously that's not particularly relevant if he's a midfielder and will only be used as RB cover.0
-
Some neat footwork that by Stockley! Don't try it Ryan, stay safe "Bruv".2

He definitely played against us for Oxford in that 2-0 losscafcfan1990 said:Was Clare playing at RB for Oxford against us at the Valley? Post from the guy that has mentioned Edwards. Apaz Reading weren’t interested.0 -
Yes, I've just heard Sean Clare. Seems we are building a promotion team from other league one cast offs.17

Might have been the transfer embargo that stopped them from signing himRedRobin said:

He needs a drummer?cafcfan1990 said:Kyle Hakeem Edwards (born 17 February 1998) is a professional footballer and musician who most recently played for Premier League club West Bromwich Albion as a forward.
Think we can all guess why Sandgaard wants him...0 -
I didnt remember the name, but having looked at his photo I do remember him playing against us and frustrating the he'll out of me with his pace and strength. Seem to remember him going on a decent run where none of our players could challenge him. Also seem to remember him giving it a bit to one of the players after he had got challenged. Seems a decent player and I'm sure he put in some decent crosses in that game too5

Hackney boy caused us all sorts of problems playing for Burton …RedRobin said:
Came through our academy I think. Attacking player I think. Was impressed when I saw him play against us last season.charlton_hero said:Sean Clare anyone?1 -
I know nothing about Edwards but I'd be happy with Sean Clare, looked a good player in the second half of the season for Burton.0

Doesn't sound like a cast off. Robinson seems upset he doesn't want to stay.Redvaliant said:Yes, I've just heard Sean Clare. Seems we are building a promotion team from other league one cast offs.11 -
I’m getting old. Keep seeing you say ‘Apaz’ on this thread and thought that was a rumoured players name!RedRobin said:

Clare is 6’3, so I assume passes the height test13
-
Just waiting on Crawley to put these rumours down so we can all have a melt down19
-
Clare is 6'3" so full back might be a strange place to put him.
From reading his figures on Wyscout he breaks up the play a lot - 14th highest number of "recoveries" in the division on average and 5th in the division for "counterpressing recoveries"
He keeps his passing short and frequently they are lateral as opposed to going forwards.
He had 4 assists and 24 shots but just the one goal last season and featured in 37 league games and picked up 13 bookings in that time
Looks to me like a clone of Pratley but a bit more mobile. Don't expect frills and fancy stuff but do expect a few crunching tackles...and a few late ones.25 -
How reliable are these sources?
Still, two rumours to get our teeth into.0 -
“If Sean wants to come to a team that’s consistently been in the top six for two years and keep us in there, come and get your place. .”charlton_hero said:
Well Karl what is it? Consistently or for two years?

Value around 350,0002

Aneka is irreplaceablecharltonbob said:
Totally agree, not even replaced Aneka let along made any actual improvements to the team. Just a couple of like for likes. As for revamping the squad with young hungry players to play a high pressing game, it's just not going to happen is it.eaststandmike said:Hoping for the best........................preparing for the worst.
I have a feeling that we are going to start the season with a squad weaker than what we finished with. Also waiting for the news that "Ronnie has looked sharp and committed in training so we feel we do not need to sign another striker"8
