We know that Sandgaard passes his eye over players and approves/disapproves based on ability. We've been told so a few times. I personally think that's insane. He has no professional footballing background and is essentially now at the top of our scouting heirarchy, giving the final yes or no. He shouldn't have put himself in that position.5

If Roddy has taken over from Steve which has been rumored then it is clear he is not good enough at his job we never had this problem before and to be fair to Steve look at some of the players he recruited Cullen bellicose are but a couple of realy good players.1

Last season if we were chasing the game we would bring on Aneke often with good effect.
This season for the 2nd game running we have brought on Watson while we are a goal behind.
Sums up our transfer window perfectly.24 -
Two weeks left to sign players and we find ourselves instead of now looking for the cherry on the top of the squad player to come in, we are in a position where we need to effectively replace half the first eleven, with enough quality to get us top six. Good luck with that. I have no idea who is calling the shots on recruitment but whether it’s TS, Adkins, Gallen or Roddy, whoever it is has blundered big time. If it’s money then we’re sunk. If it’s incompetence then that needs identifying and rooting out straight away. After four games this season is slipping away. It’s that grim.6

The amount of players we’ve seemingly missed out on is a joke. Scott Twine was shoulders above Albie last night, crying out for a player like him but apparently we were not in for him. Whoever is in charge of recruitment at the moment is having a mare and I highly doubt it’s Gallen!!!8

I'm amazed people keep talking about we have 2 weeks to bring players in.
It's now too late.
We've had 3 months to sign players. Anyone decent who would make us a top 6 side has already been signed up.......or will cost more than TS is prepared to throw at it.
The only players coming in before Sept 1st will be loans & freebies. The loans will be mainly untried & untested like Levitt and the freebies players who have not done a pre-season so will take weeks to get match fit.14 -

I've been reluctant to criticise Sandgaard, but he needs to be held accountable for that decision as much as Roddy needs to be held accountable for our shocking recruitment this summer16 -
I read that quote as saying that Roddy identifies players as well, not that he is solely in charge of it. And we knew that already.7

I feel pretty sure Sandgaard mentioned in an interview that it was himself, Roddy, Gallen and Adkins who identified and agreed on players. I believe he said that all 4 had to agree on a player before they went for him, which set my alarm bells ringing because Sandgaard should be nowhere near deciding if a player is or is not good enough to play.3

I think we need to lay of Roddy for a bit lads. Despite Gallen, Nigel, Thomas and Cawley saying Roddy and his team identify the players, Ronnie has said he doesn't.

Martin Boyle at Hibs has a £500k release clause in his contract, but only to English clubs. He would be a fantastic signing IMO.4

Wow probably not the thread, but fuck me this is depressing 3 games in and people are writing of the new players.
McWhatever - He was player of the year for Portsmouth, new players in front of him and probably still needs to settle
Dobson/Clare - Personally i feel people have been overly critical, they have the potential to be a great partnership although we need a chief play-maker to pass too
DJ - Semi new, one game he is awful by the fans standard and the next he is dangerous and we should be passing to him more, ie. a typical winger
Kirk- No judgement yet, 30 minutes and clearly Gunter isn't the best person to play in front of and get the ball forward.
Facts, we still need a LB urgently, CAM urgent unless Gilbey is back very soon! We need a pacey striker to play off Stockley, as good as he has been he just doesn't have the pace so becomes predictable. Our bench is just shocking, at no point did i think we can bring on xx and they will change the game, Kirk aside. Also Back up Keeper or someone to battle McWhatever.
TLDR- 3 games in lets not write players off, 2 weeks to go fingers crossed we get another 3/4 players in of the required quality9 -
