Hard to judge from a pre season friendly but my initial instinct is that our shape looks good but we have glaring deficiencies at left back, creative midfielder (no 10 role), left wing and potentially central defence where our two first choices are injury prone and careless respectively. But we knew all that anyway. Our first team as it stands, if fully fit and if trying properly in a proper match will be very hard to beat. But we won’t be beating any scoring records. Transfer activity to come will be very interesting.

Sandgaard flying over to spend 2 weeks in UK, including the Sheffield Wednesday game.

    We look miles away.

In Tommy we trust but he's cutting it fine to get a squad together to give it a decent go.

Maybe this is why we shouldn’t rely too much on a 17 year old CB, imagine the abuse he’ll get not stopping that in a league game.

Pretty good first half. Liking the look of Dobson, Clare and Morgan in midfield. Poor goal to concede though, especially after a fine save from McGillivray.

Is Deji playing instead of Inniss now?

Cheers, just noticed on twitter that both Purrington (knock) and Inniss (planned) got replaced.

At this rate of new player recruitment we can forget getting many points in August and September. This current squad is to thin in good experienced players and we know a fair number of are current ones as brittle as glass and will spend plenty of time on injury list.

I know needs must, and today it was because Purrington went off, but I’m surprised/concerned at how much time Roddy has got so far this pre-season.

Much better picture, we’ll be able to see the Reading goals clearly now
  • LOL. Just tuned in to find it was a 2pm kick-off. What a plonker!
Will skim read this thread  to get the first half lowdown

    Synopsis.

We played relatively well but conceded, oh! And the squad looks threadbare...

Gunter will be back and no doubt we’ll sign a left back.

Oof little bit of composure needed from Clare or Morgsn (couldn't tell) after a great run from Washington

Morgan should have done better with that shot.

Morgan needs to be more composed there, he’s got the ability to do better with chances like that.
