Can't believe how bad Liverpool have been defensively today. They won't get anywhere near City based on this.
Completely agree, but at the same time their individual players are streets ahead of spurs. Control, skill, pressing has all been superior. Spurs have just been able to turn their defence around too much. Not that I’m complaining. Can’t stand Liverpool.
modern football is so quick and the players so slick and crafty that perhaps it should now be a job (like hockey) for a referee in each half .. won't happen though

Out of interest, why don’t you like Liverpool? Is it historical? I ask because I love watching this Liverpool team

1) They won everything when I was a kid. If they never win anything again it’ll be 100 years too soon. 2) As soon as they become a bit decent, the media gets an enormous boner for them. 3) Their fans.

Ah fair enough, I’m just (very just) a bit too young for 1, and I see no real difference in 2 & 3 with any of the other “big” clubs.

Ha! Yeah, I also can’t bear the other “big six” media darlings, but I find Liverpool and Chelsea particularly unlikeable. I’m sure I’ll dislike Man City more once their dominance becomes tiresome, but they don’t bother me yet! 😎

If you have to ask why people don't like the bin dippers then I can only assume you are under 30 years of age. Can't stand the pricks myself.
Man City and Liverpool are getting sucked off by VAR today
It's the inconsistency that annoys me.
Leeds v Arsenal last night. Bad tackle from Xhaka, not even a yellow when VAR would've clearly seen replays and could've told the ref. 2 minutes later, almost identical challenge from a Leeds player. Yellow card.
Terrible challenge by Kane, VAR doesn't get the ref to relook at it. But then does for Robertson. No VAR ruling when Salah clearly handballed it in the build up to their 2nd goal.
Man City were 2 up at HT, won 4-0, had 73% possession and 18 shots.
Guardiola's post match comments:
"A not very good performance at all. We were lucky for the goal we scored at the beginning of the game. The second goal was a brilliant action from Joao, but the way we played in the first half was one of the poorest of the season.
“During the season this can happen. It’s normal. You can’t be brilliant all the time. We more than deserved the victory but we know we can do better and better"

I’m 36, I think the equivalent for my generation would have been the dominant Man Utd team of the ‘90’s & early 00’s.
Only teams in England I feel any real negativity towards are Palace & Millwall though.

This except I would add ‘the special Anfield atmosphere’
load of bollocks - easy to be loud on a vital European knock out game but flat as a pancake when home to the likes of Charlton or Fulham
6) their fans again and the we’ve had it tough bollox when they would just win the odd cup and Champions League … fuck em
I didn’t mind them when I was younger (and more innocent) they were the only team on telly pretty much and wanted them to do well in their European exploits but now I’m bitter and hate all clubs I know fans of … luckily I don’t know Man City fans so carry on
I see the old VAR thread doesn't even get an outing these days. Ridiculous decision after ridiculous decision and we all now just shrug our shoulders and have to accept it.
Still, it's nice that the referees don't make so many obvious errors these days ...... so the pro-VAR disciples must be happy.
(I'll give it a while before the old "It's not VAR that's the problem" line gets trotted out)

Ominous for the rest of the league.

VAR is gone and referees are back making horrible decisions that don't get overruled.
Games are back to being decided by how the referee is feeling that day.
