Clive I booked returns to Newcastle 08.30 & 18.29.
I was thinking of buying Metro tickets on the day from Newcastle Central Station to Stadium of Light.
What's best, the above or train to and from Sunderland.
I'm a bit concerned about catching the 18.29.1 -
Might make a weekend of this in Newcastle. Will have a look at flights too0

My son checked the price from Southampton. I hope you're sitting down £181 return 🤯 with four changes.
If we do go it'll be a long drive with three of us in the car as I don't think we'll spend £543 on fuel.
And they want people to use public transport. 🙄2 -

If your planning a pre-match pint in Sunderland you are better off heading to Sunderland station.1 -

When I looked at this as an away option as not been for about 35 years or more. £90 and only one option to get me home by 10.45 pm. Along with disruption warnings. Northern powerhouse indeed!0

Didn't L... T..... come back on the same direct train from Sunderland as many Charlton fans in 2018?0

Bung in a two together or other railcards and it might come in under £50 each!
Not bad really.1 -
If I depart York at 08.55 and catch the return from Sunderland at 20.17 it’ll cost me the princely sum of £21.60! Going to check my work schedule to see if it’s a goer as that’s more than reasonable.2

I sat with the Sunderland fans who were very very quiet until their winner. But we all know who had last laugh at Wembley. 😂0

Trainline says you walk from from Newcastle Metro to Newcastle. I’m assuming this is the same station but just different platforms and it’s not a mad sprint to make the 18.29 to KX?0

Further to @clive initial post, splittraintickets list these prices.
I have not looked at the LNER site for updates. These prices are KX to Sunderland return.0 -
Always use https://book.splittraintickets.net/ when booking train tickets especially if your journey covers two companies or there is more than one route!
Going to trainline.com or a train company site is like accepting the first house insurance quote you are given and assuming there isn't anything cheaper!4 -

Thinking about letting the train take the strain to this one but probably staying overnight & returning home on the Sunday.
Just a thought...Is there any chance this one might be an early kick off /changed to the Sunday for Sky & if unknown at this time, any idea how soon we might know ?
Thanks, guys.0 -
