I had just started to email you when I had to leave for the funeral directors.
Losing somebody is never easy but the kindness of others and particularly the Charlton family has really helped.
The funeral is scheduled for the 5th October at 2.30pm at Bentley Crematorium (near Brentwood) and we’ve booked some space in a restaurant (Black Horse) for 3.30 for a meal. Obviously, you’ve very welcome to join us for that and if you can let us know, that would be helpful to confirm numbers. Obviously, there will a Charlton theme running through the service as you would expect.
Strangely, I’m going to be in the Centre Circle restaurant with a friend for the Portsmouth game jointly celebrating our 60th birthdays. It seems almost appropriate in some ways!!
Really Sad to hear this. Jean was one of most familiar and friendly faces at Charlton. Rest in peace Jean, I know you'll be looking down on the Addicks on match days
Jean's son, Gary, has suggested that rather than flowers donations are made to Alzheimer's Research UK - the UK's leading Alzheimer's research charity (alzheimersresearchuk.org) in Jean's memory.
