Very long trip, on tv, coming off the back of a fortnight that has seen games away at Burton, Morecambe and Shrewsbury, personally i'll be very impressed if we have more than 600 there.
I reckon crowd will be swelled by plenty of Newcastle fans - for me it’s one to watch at home - stadium looks awful - it’s a bloody long way - it will brass monkeys cold - the thought of going all that way, we get beat, then the depressing trip home - nah
A long trip up north, potentially freezing and played in a stadium that makes you so thankful to call the Valley our home,
But, it's the FA Cup, under lights on a Friday night and seeing familiar faces in far off places is what being a football fan is all about, up early for work Saturday and I hate watching us on the telly so know, whatever my concerns, the long schlep northwards is the most likely outcome for me and my lad!

I can't justify an overnighter for this having just been groundhopping for five days but am tentatively considering the coach. I can't find any details on the club site, only a link to buy match tickets. Are we even running a coach / coaches to Gateshead?

Yeah. It left Larkfield last night.
When i called the ticket office to find out if the club would be running a coach to Gateshead i was asked to let them have my Fan id and contact details. If they have enough interest i presume the will put a coach on.
that just looks quite possibly the worst place to watch a game of football
May 1988 Stamford Bridge
Withdean Stadium, Brighton
1066 at Stamford Bridge was a bit of a battle, too.
AA, after Harold Godwinson my Anglo Saxon relative on my paternal side, defeated the Vikings under Harald Hardrada in the semi final of the Euros on 25th September 1066 at Stamford bridge "up North"; because of Engineering works his men had to march home some with athletes foot and the odd arm missing to prepare for the final at Senlac Hill, Battle, over the weekend of the 13/14 October against the Normans, under William the Bastard. The Normans had a bye in the semi final when the Romans didn't turn up because they were 600 years past their sell by date
Harold who had his EUFA pro licence liked to play narrow and defend and keep a high line. Now Billy the bastard liked to attack down the flanks, unfortunately for my team Anglo Saxon Rovers, some of his defenders had a brain freeze and chased down after Norman conquest United attackers who were in retreat but it was a trick and they were cut to ribbons. As you all know there were no Subs in those days, even Keith Peacock was still in the academy and the momentum swing was amazing and the rest is History.
I must move on, but for me it's too soon.
My great grandfather X 23 was in the Anglo Saxon team, called Alfred the ( not very ) Pious. Apparently VAR was called for, unfortunately William the Bastard promptly cut off the petitioner's head. Although England lost the euro final, successive English monarchs protested to uefa for hundreds of years right up to Georgian times.
As part of Billy the Bastard winning, England acquired the channel Islands, this has recently come back to bite the French in the bum. The new game is called the fishing dispute and has no time limits.

I was told the club are not running one. Disgraceful.

Is that Gateshead time in the frozen North East where it gets dark at midday and most people there hibernate until spring ?
Have a good time mate.
