I remember thinking after last season that they would push on and be really challenging at the top for the title this season. Then when they signed Ronaldo I thought that he was the icing on the cake, and that they could surely be Champions.
I don't know what went wrong in the first half of the season. I'm quite certain however that getting in an interim manager for the second half of the season is a mistake, especially one whose philosophy doesn't match the players.
Could it also be true to say that the modern game generally doesn't suit players like Pogba, Ronaldo, and Kirk at our level? These players who won't track back to get behind the ball and also do a high press, are they going to go out of the game?
I think they've had to change the way the play because of Ronaldo. They went unbeaten for a long time away from home because they played a fast counter attacking style, they can't play like with Ronaldo there. His arrival has also significantly reduced Fernandes' impact.
But aside from that i think the level has gone up this year. United came 2nd with 74 points which is pretty low and would've had you a distant 3rd in most recent seasons. This year 74 points would likely see you finish 4th because the top 3 have got much better.
I see the live games were chosen. Pretty uninspiring apart from Kidderminster although the Forest game should be good. Good that Boreham Wood will get some tv money although viewing figures will be pretty shit.

The ties weren't very exciting to be fair, so it's not as if the TV companies have left out the best games
Boro get away with a handball before they equalise. One of those ones where because the player who handled the ball didn't score himself, the goal wasn't disallowed...

Another reason to hate what the game has become. Ludicrous decision.

With TV commentry like that, what hope is there?
Haha
just natural to run to the keeper after a shootout.
15 scored in a row, followed by a miss from a 19 year old.
