We have lost two important players yet I am quietly confident about tomorrow against the League leaders. Thinking about why that is, I would say three things. Dobson, Gilbey and Lee. These players make it work. Hard work, defensive strength and goals. Bodies in both boxes when you need them. Like I said, I am quietly confident as long as they can stay fit.
These promotional days nearly always end in tears. This time it might be different. We are at home and their run will end one day. Tight game but we might just nick a point, 1-1.
I thought - "I live 20 miles from Plymouth, I'll be able to listen to the commentary on BBC radio Devon!". They are featuring Torquay v Barnet. WTF is wrong with these idiots?

11pm start here, wife wants to go out for late session at the Luna cinema, I'm running the line of 'can't watch a movie after a meal' so may be able to get back in time for kick off. 2:1

Wtf!! I was hoping to listen to this too. What about on AM? They usually do two commentaries.
Can someone explain to me why Plymouth is good this year. They were dreadful last year. Did they replace most of their squad? I haven’t followed them close enough to know if they just on a good run of form but will revert to their talent level or if they really are that good

Focused on replacing most of their defence I believe.
- Bringing 9 spurs supporting mates who are all excited for the game - Bringing my girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband etc to his/her first ever Charlton game, they've been looking forward to it for weeks. - Bringing my Dad who is going to his first Charlton game since 1950. - Bringing my kids to their first Charlton game, I hope this gets them Addicked! - My uncle is travelling over from New Zealand just for this game. - Bringing a mate who hates football, this will be the game to convert them, I can feel it! - Sandgaard is here, that's got to be a good omen! - Jacko's unbeaten league run to continue! - Placed a bet on Charlton to repeat the 6-0 from last season!
I’ll be pleased with anything from this game. Assuming Stockley’s out we lose a bit up top but it’s our injuries at the back that worry me more. Plymouth are a good side going forward and I just feel, without us being at full strength, it will be too much for us.
I really don't want to be a party pooper and we have Golfie to fill that role BUT
It's a difficult one to work out why Deji Elerewe would play the night before a big important League match at a sold out Valley? The risk involved with Inniss, Lavelle and Famewo all being out was enormous.
Out of 5 CB's, Jason Pearce is last man standing and if he wakes up with Sciatica this morning.........
Negativity thoughts out the way.
I want, crave, desire Johnnie Jackson to get the job full time so much, to take this quirky old unique South London club with its global fan base forward to better days after decades of one foot forward, two steps back, not only off the pitch, but on it.
Give 100% to Jackson's team today before, during and after, what ever the score as 20/11/21 could end up as a milestone in JJ career at CAFC. Sell it to Thomas Sandgaard that Johnnie should have the Gig because he is the man to galvanize the players, fans, staff and eliminate the stench of Southall and his cronies which very nearly sucked the life out of our club.

We are doing the right things with Deji. He's learning and not quite there to play, make a mistake against the league leaders. That will be damaging.
Yeah, I saw Rooney, Owen, Bowyer & Rufus all disintegrate after they were bloodied in before they were 20. Best play an aging, bone creaking has been or better still a right back in centre of defence.
We have to trust that Jacko and Euell (ex youth manager) know just that tad more than us about a player's readiness and suitability for the game today.

Charlton 0-1 Plymouth (Pearce OG 90+4).
0-2 but obviously hoping to be proven wrong.

...are the only options so I can only see us playing 4 at the back else 2 out of position CB's can and will get the runaround.
Personally wish we just paid off Watson and kept Pratley as he would have been much more useful cover in times like this.
(Keeping it quiet)
