I thought Ollie Robinson was doing well in the Royal but then noticed the record of Stevie Eskinazi of Middlesex - in 7 innings he's scored 645 runs at an average of 107.5 and including four tons!

Looking at the stats, Denly was the standout bowler from both teams. Good that he seems back in rhythm again
Something definitely hasn't been right with him over the course of the last couple of years but from mid season onwards he has been superb. Perhaps it was, as has been suggested, the England situation and coming to terms with that but, with him bowling so well, we aren't missing that second frontline spinner such as Linde for example.

100% this! He is a class act. But mentally England burnt him. But looks like he is a good space, and willing to skipper again suggests this.

The only change from the last match is Stevens in for Podmore in what will be, sadly, his last ever Royal London game for us. This strengthens the batting but does mean that Stewart is rewarded for his match winning efforts by dropping one down the order to 8!

Kent won the toss and elected to bowl

Edit - I'm talking rubbish (some might say "nothing different" from normal) but Podmore is playing and Stevens has come in for the returning Saini
Might not Stevens play if we get through?

A very good point. Not sure what our chances of doing so are but a win is, obviously, the first port of call.

Great catch by Qadri off Podmore by all accounts!

    84-4 off 19.2

    84-4 off 19.2

The replays wasn't very helpful, 2 angles of the batsmen hitting the ball (from the initial live stream I thought it was in the air, just no way to see where it went) and zero angles that include the actual catch

Stumping to Robinson off Qadri who has been, as has been said before, one of the success stories of this competition for us

    95-5

Kent have let them get away a bit here. From 95/5 was hoping for under 200ao, but Lancs are now 188/5 with 12 overs to go and two set batsmen. They'll be hoping for 300+ from here

196/6, something like the 5th or 6th skied ball in the last few overs finally finds a man

Lancs finish on 295/9. Kent have got to be disappointed with that having reduced Lancs to 37/3 and 95/5

    41-3 off 10

Perhaps we should take comfort in the fact that Lancs were 38-3 at the same stage!

33 needed off 5. Hopefully Finch and Stewart will take us home and into the knock outs with the other results going our way
