I heard something similar (to Hants) and like you it doesn't come from a reliable source but Cox has another year left on his contract, the same as Robinson who was allowed to leave because my understanding is that his contract had a clause which stipulated that he had to play a certain number of games and that wasn't fulfilled. So unless Cox has a similar stipulation or can persuade Kent to release him then he still has a year to run.
