Armenia 1-0 Ireland a surprise result from earlier today.
That ain’t a surprise 🤣
Ireland were unbeaten in 12
That is a surprise
Speaking of surprises, Ireland beat Scotland 3-0.
It’s a very low bar at the moment, but that’s the best I have seen us in quite a few years. Should have been 4 and could have been more. Starting Martins, who was superb with a brilliant assist and a screamer of a goal, and Parrot up front was refreshing and just what we needed.

Have you been celebrating Tel? That Obafemi goal and assist were unreal. We were lucky that Scotland couldn't have finished a child's potion of chips tonight with how many chances the defense served up to them. Great to win a match in style though.

I watched at home, but celebrated with a good cup of coffee mate 😇
What I was suggesting was that starting Obafemi (his first start for us) was a positive move. Duffy scares the hell out of me at the back. He’s a menace when we have attacking set pieces, but not sure that makes up for his defensive frailties. 🦜 took his goal really well and I was impressed again with Nathan Collins and Josh was much better than the last two games.
I’m not a huge fan of Stephen Kenny. Appreciate that we’re trying to change the way we play with essentially a whole new team, but he hasn’t convinced me so far. Happy to see how we push on from this.
Worth pointing out that England wont be one of the top seeds as things stand when the draw for Euro 2024 Qualification comes around, as well as the fact we'd be relegated as things stand - Bit like last time, the seeding will be based on the final positions in this tournament.
We'll need to climb from 14th to 10th for that to be the case
If we do drop into League B - Then its possible we wont be top seeds ahead of the next World Cup or Euros Qualifying
e.g. Could easily end up in a Qualification group with Spain and Germany etc.

isn't euro qualifying a bit of a joke now though? You can come like 7th in your group and still qualify so???
Top two qualify automatically - There are then three Play-Offs from each Division of the Nations League... Seems that if you are in League D (Andorra / San Marino etc.) you wont get a Play-Off to enter the main Tournament this time around, which is pretty understandable.
Is worth noting if we finish top of our Nations League group (quite difficult now), we wont play more games what with the Finals to play as well - Instead we'd just go into a Euro Quali Group of five teams, rather than a Group of six teams
Just what we need, even MORE effectively meaningless games!
Tougher games though, if in the top tier you are now in a group with Brazil, Argentina and France for instance!
Though the travel will be a lot worse, can't play away to Bolivia and then home to Turkey in 3 days, plus a flight from Azerbaijan to Peru for instance is going to be about 18 hours

Article says all games will be in Europe, as most of the top South Americans all play in Europe anyway.
That won't help the smaller nations though. Teams like Venezuela and Bolivia with a lot of local players are going to do a lot of travelling. And won't help a country like Ecuador who generally do ok because they play their home games at altitude.
Comments
Their only wins since 2019 have been against Andorra, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Luxembourg and Lithuania.
I think he'd probably be close to Ronaldo's tally if he was European and played the number of qualifiers we do against terrible low ranked nations.
When will him and Ronaldo ever stop?

Hence why its important that we dont go down.
