Croatia are still a decent side. Modric just as good as ever and City wouldn’t go a miss getting Kovacic to replace Gundogan. Pep could get him playing like he does for Croatia on a weekly basis.
First half was great, second half was beyond shite. I like the nations league but it has too much importance on seeding etc when it’s not really done well (ie the games last summer after a season)
watched the spain v italy game. VAR played its part with an offside for the Italians. They only seemed to show it once and it looked like the reason the Italian player Frattesi was given offside was because of his forehead. Even though he never used his head to score the goal. brain possibly but not head.
How Morata still gets into the Spanish national side shows how lacking they still are for forwards. If Stockley had a bit of spain in him then i reckon he would be in their squad.
I still don't agree with this being considered a major trophy
it isent. It wants to be as prestigious as the Intertoto cup but fails. I don't even know where we finished in this years tournament and apparently we got quite far in this tournament when it first started.

Thing with the automated offside system(I'm sure they use that in the Nations League as well) there are no lines being drawn its quicker and alot more accurate.
Still can't believe the Premier League refused it and have decided to stick with drawing lines
Been watching the game. Not exactly a thriller IMO.
Croatia are 90 minute draw specialists in these knock out games…
It’s now 9 of their last 12 knockout matches they’ve played across World Cups, Euros and Nations League that have lasted longer than the 90 minutes. They tend to win them too.
The three that didn’t were the 2018 final against France, the 2022 semi final against Argentina and the 2022 3rd place game against Morocco.
I didn't even realise it was on. I was just flicking through the channels as TV is shit tonight. I have oly seen the last 15 to 20 minute and 1st half of extra time.

which begs the question why didn't they do this before?
