True Grit is a good film and Hailee Steinfeld is very good in the Kim Darby role but it is very much a film that didn't need to be made.
Which Suicide Squad, beds? The one with The Joker or the more recent one? I'm guessing as it's on 'Premiere' it's the more recent one. Not that it matters much, they're both pretty bad, only made watchable by Margot Robbie.
It is the recent one . It’s Much , much better than the previous film .
Before all the madness descended we used to have film Fridays in a restaurant in the village (we are very lucky to have a local film maker living here). Bait was one of the first films he showed. Being as we too are are a wee fishing village that gets totally overrun in the summer it struck a few chords.
Tell us where it is, please, so we can come this summer.
Baltimore West Cork. Fill ya boots. We’ve decided not to rent out our cottage next summer. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the area myself 😝

Perhaps you and MsAA can compare locks (I think it was you on the 'pictures at age 20' thread that had similar hair to MsAA's).

True, although it would be pretty much impossible to be worse.

I was going to ask if the Barbary Corsairs were leaving you alone these days, but that would be silly.
Just don't read Des Ekin's book, it is to pirate/Corsair history what Dan Brown is to literary greatness...

Mine has all gone now I’m gray. First thing I did when I moved here. I just have a fringe to tame (must never get moist, she will understand 😝😜🤪😂)

Really like Attack the Block.
Slight spoiler alert. We saw it with a Q&A afterwards by the director, Joe Cornish. I asked if The Beano had asked for royalties for the use of Gnasher.
Zulu will be watched again by moi and slept through by Mrs Carter.
Skyfall, I thought was second to casino Royale as the best Bond film of the Craig era. Training Day is a lot of fun, Denzel is great in films like that and Ethan Hawke is decent too as the rookie
Misery, just love the ankle breaking scene. Promising You Woman, well worth watching, one of the better things to come out recently. I won’t be watching Zulu, not one of my wife’s favourites. No way would she allow that on in the evening. I do have it on Blu-ray though. Strong line up there and have to agree about Junior, excruciating dross.
I can't believe that no-one has mentioned Mary Poppins Returns which made its first appearance on (terrestrial?) TV on Christmas Day.
I recorded it and watched it on Boxing Day with my daughter to make up for our abandoned match.
I never really appreciated musicals until about 3 years ago when I saw La La Land, Saving Mr Banks and the original Mary Poppins again at Christmas.
This 'sequel' does absolute justice to the original. My 6 year old daughter loved the parts like the bathtub and ornamental bowl, and just loved it all. I was watching a film for the first time but it felt like a member of the family had come to visit.
Sometimes I get nostalgic for old Christmas-s but as I cuddled my daughter at the end of the film with tears in my eyes, I wanted the moment to last forever.

I liked it more than I thought I would tbh as the original MP is one of my favourites. Having seen bits of it again this year, I’m going to have to watch it again now 😁
Watched the Last Train to Christmas last night - the Sky Original with Michael Sheen. A touch of Sliding Doors and About Time with a heartwarming ending that gets you thinking about your whole life and the decisions you make.
Really enjoyed it - took a while to warm up and get into it but was one of those that I didn’t realise how much I enjoyed it until it was over.

Anyone who has had a cat or dog would appreciate the time that the animators have taken to study the behaviour of the animals portrayed.
Me and Mrs TT thoroughly enjoyed it.

You should not have given up after 20 minutes.

Wifes seen it 8 million times.
As it's the wifes birthday today I'm having to watch it again.
The wife just said am I taking her to see it.
