DK doesn't seem to have the 'presence' of Chuks or Mbick but he has got pace which might well be useful against slower centre backs or if TC has to go off early........

Works hard aswell pressing the defence. If Campbell did have to be subbed and it was DK & MG up top, defences wouldnt have a moments peace.
Mbick is a swap for Aneke, and Kanu is a swap for Godden. Godden is much hotter right now than Kanu, M’bick is more of an unknown quantity. With the Aneke situation it might be that Dixon travelled as well for the Wrexham game, another quantity unknown to Parkinson.

Kanu looks quicker than he did when he first broke into the side but I still wouldn't accuse him of being pacy.
Kanu's had a real sliding doors season. That match with Birmingham at The Valley he got paired with Godden in the 442 box formation and it looked like a perfect partnership. Kanu did the heavy lifting in terms of pressing up front while our midfielders man-marked their players out of the game and that created space for Godden to get on the end of the chances we created. We beat the champions that game but he was injured right after and that formation never looked right again without his hard work up front. From there we eventually landed on our current set up with width and a bit more pace and there's less of an obvious key part for him to play. You have to wonder how different things would have been if he hadn't got injured and the box had continued to work; not so much for us as it's worked out pretty well but for him and his overall progress

His running style makes him look slower than he is. His long strides eat up ground quickly though.

Agreed but if they do see him as a bit quick it'll mean they'll have to worry about covering him rather than coping with him one on one.....? Still it's good he's become available again given what's happened with Chuks.
Kanu's had a very stop start season. But looks like he'll get some game time with chuks suspended and gas seemingly out of favour. Jones likes him cause he works very hard for the team, but crucially he has that ability to pop up in the right areas to nick a goal. Been a bit unlucky with innocuous injuries this term, but hopefully can contribute something in the last couple of games. He seems like a very grounded young man and a good character. COYA
I thought Mbick looked well out of his depth yesterday but Nathan see something about him which I haven't seen. Poor 1st touch when in a great position with another forward to his left.
Can anyone who has seen him in more games than I describe his strengths ?
I don't write off young players but I do feel Nathan goes OTT when describing both Mbick and TC. Since NJ said TC was better than Premier players he worked with at Saints, Tyreece has hardly got past League one defenders though he has learnt the art of going down with contact. Very useful yesterday!
Daniel Kanu getting injured after scoring against Crawley was a big set back for him and for the first time I think he will need a loan in league 1 or 2 to get game time and prove he's a scorer. Possibly his career will be away from CAFC but I still feel he can score goals.

Mbick must have done something in training to put himself ahead of Kanu, Ahadme and Hylton. Young players don’t seem as fearless as they used to - maybe the occasion got to him.
Kanu by all accounts has a tremendous attitude and will definitely have a career somewhere . Players can mature later now - look at Alfie May’s career until the last 4 seasons . Coventry has finally had a breakout season at 25, Josh Cullen didn’t establish himself until mid twenties .
I’ve seen nothing about Mbick that makes me feel confident he’s the real deal . In fact quite the opposite. Kanu on the other hand has shown he can play but next year a league one loan would be best for him .
It was certainly an eyebrow-raising substitution. With Mbick being 2 years younger than Kanu, maybe they see him as having a higher ceiling. I'll be interested to see him in pre-season - hopefully we send him to TC's brother over the off season. With Kanu, I think it can click for him at some point, but I think he needs a proper full season, starting every game and banging in the goals, ideally at LG2 level.
I won't criticise Jones too much as it was ultimately his team and tactics that both got us to the final and won it. However, feel Jones massively got away with that Mbick sub. He way out of his depth and the sub felt unneeded + unnecessarily risky. Was even slower than Chuks which is saying something!
Either way, to quote above, 'we won the game so it's a moot point'.

I don’t think it’s strength Mbick needs to work on, that’s a big part of his game already, I think he probably just needs to settle into men’s football. I thought he looked unsure what to do when he had the ball on the right side of the box, and that’s probably more nerves than anything - I doubt he loses the ball so easily in that position in an u21 game or in training.
Going to be interesting to see how things play out for the u21s on the fringes. The Championship is a bigger step up, so I wonder if we’ll see a few go out on loan who would have been involved with the first had we lost yesterday.
Great for that group to be part of the squad yesterday, and we have Zach Mitchell, Asiimwe and Laqeretabua (injured I believe), must give them confidence NJ really sees them as part of our future.
TC for our Championship promotion squad and the rest are nowhere near the league we're now in so off on loan to try and get better or leave , ruthless , onwards and upwards

I don't think Mbick did anything that would point to it being a good substitution. We won the game so it's a moot point either way.
Felt taking Godden off, with just a one goal lead, with penalties still a very distant possibility a bit of a shot in the foot.
