Winviz is basically saying New Zealand can't win and that England can.

I agree but looking at the score you would say its 50/50?
that's because it is unlikely NZ will get a total high enough that they will comfortable declaring and still leave enough time to bowl England out.
Whereas England can bowl NZ out and knock off the runs

    I disagree.

NZ could easily get a 300 run lead & their spinner Bracewell could easily get us out during the last 2 sessions tomorrow. He looked pretty dangerous this morning.

More likely that than us chasing down 300 again.
  • I could do what Leach is doing atm. No spin, just slow bowling that gets clipped, swept or pulled without fear of getting out.

Bracewell will be a different story tomorrow I bet.
  • Leach never looks like getting a wicket.
He doesn't even look close to getting a wicket.
  • Horrible screeching noise from a crane outside the ground  :D

    Rarely fails.

A really dreadful bowler. From the little I saw of Parkinson last week, he looked just as unthreatening.

  • 115-3 NZ. Another wicket or two now and it starts to get interesting.
  • Nicholls looks every inch a guy who's about to be dropped. Weird considering he should be a mainstay
  • They dropped a stat on root earlier. Since January 2021 he’s scored more runs than Steve Smith, Virat and Kane Williamson…..Combined! Staggeringly good record over the last 18 months.

Just checked; scored a ton vs SA only two Tests ago. Looks incredibly out of sorts though, and someone's gonna have to make way for KW
  • Free entrance at Trent Bridge tomorrow

He has probably played more tests than them combined as well.

YJB has played a similar number of tests to Southee.....
  • Getting interesting now with the run out.
  • Need to break the Blundell/Mitchell wall now

It was a concrete mixer. Thankfully he's finished for the day
  • Leach v the New Zealand batsmen looks about as threatening as a palarse ultra at the Den.

Really hoping this is the last time we see him in an England shirt

Careful what you wish for. They'll get Bess back in if you're not careful.

That said, Patterson-White looks like he could challenge Parkinson to be next in line
  • 204-6 NZ. We are right in with a chance now.

  • 213 for 7 now
  • A really strange day's cricket. Loads of wickets, but hardly any of them to particularly good deliveries.

Both teams should have got over 700 when you take the soft dismissals out.  Both teams could have been out for less than 300 if they held on to the catches.

    Funny old game.
  • Anyone in the vicinity of Nottingham and with a few hours to kill tomorrow could do far worse than rocking up at TB.  It looks set for an enthralling day's cricket.
  • If this game had been at Lord's or The Oval, they would have got a far bigger crowd tomorrow at £20 a ticket.

I love Trent Bridge, but there's a reason why 3 Tests a summer are played in London

All sold out which is a great result for Notts. I hope everyone spends plenty on food and drink  :)

Can you review all tests from last five years to work out what percentage of wickets are soft dismissals please
  • Set up for a top day tomorrow. Going to be fantastic. Big runs 1st innings and a thrilling chase final day. Proper test cricket.

If you're compiling a list of the greatest sportsmen this country has produced, surely there has to be a place for someone who won an Olympic gold at tennis at Wimbledon, scored a century at Lord's, captained England at football and Britain in the Davis Cup, and made a 147-break in snooker?  (Max Woosnam)

Or someone who played football and cricket for England, and rugby for Blackheath and the Barbarians? (CB Fry)
I’m pleased you mention CB Fry Chizz.  Surely there is no other England sportsman to compare.  In addition to the cricket and rugby you mention he was also joint world record holder for the long jump and a world class sprinter.  Nothing to do with it but his party trick was to stand with his back to the fireplace and jump backwards onto the mantelpiece.  I remember this story from Stephen Fry who is a distant relative.

Good call CharltonKerry.  Can we throw in Godfrey Evans too?
