In some ways this is good eh @Redmidland? At least you know you are responding to the cancer treatment and you and they know what else you’re dealing with. They can handle and treat that as well hopefully.
Best wishes to your mum @palarsehater and to @Redmidland. Keep up the good fight and let’s have some good news soon. I hope any lifers reading this page who haven’t taken up the offer of the PSA tests in the past, are encouraged to sign up for the tests offered before the Huddersfield game.

had CT scan on Monday pet scan on Tuesday got results today as such, hasn't spread to any vital areas, but will need a stent fitting in kidney which will be carried out at a day hospital in Dartford the Livingstone i believe and should hear from maistone oncology centre within next 2 weeks.
they get a lot of slagging the nhs but in 10 days they really have turned this around.

Fantastic news, onwards and upwards to the rapid progress.
Better news @palarsehater - sending all best wishes to your mum.
And keep fighting the good fight, Red. I fractured my shoulder a few years’ back after tripping on the beach and falling into some rocks. For any CAST members on here, I then chaired an online Q&A a few days later with mr positive Nigel Adkins with my arm in a sling hidden under a scarf! I was a bit shocked when a follow up scan diagnosed osteoporosis. Turned out I already had a couple of compression fractures in my spine but luckily they’ve not caused any pain. Had a course of treatment and take a daily tablet now so while it’s not curable there is a lot that can be done. I just hope they can help you re any ongoing pain /discomfort from that so that you can face the chemo full on. Take care xx
Good morning all, and I hope all on this thread and their loved ones are bearing up.
My “Robotic Radical Nephrectomy” ie, the removal of my cancerous kidney is being done in King’s College Hospital tomorrow. The wonderful NHS have really swung into action for me. It took several scans and appointments before the cancer was confirmed, but once that happened King’s have really moved things along. It’s not the most convenient location for me; we live a short walk from the Princess Royal University hospital in Farnborough, and that’s in the same NHS trust as King’s, but the surgeon explained that they don’t have the robotics in the PRU.
At least I’ll be able to get tonight’s visit to The Valley in before my op, and that will take my mind off it for a couple of hours.
If all goes well, I could be home by the weekend, although it might take me a bit longer to get match fit for the upcoming games.

King's did my bypass 5 years ago and were first class, no doubt you'll be able to say the same.
Admire your fighting spirit RM, best wishes to your mum PH (We had many trips to Maidstone and even went to Livingstone one morning with my niece). Good luck PeterG with your op.....hope that goes well for you and you can enjoy the game tonight....amazing that your going to a game the night before a major op...brave man.
Ah, the best laid plans …. King’s just called me and asked me to check in to the ward at 8 tonight. Hopefully that means my op will be early tomorrow. Will have to miss the game tonight but my son and daughter will be there to convey my support. Up the Addicks.
Hi PeterG, RM, & ParlarseH, I take my hat off to you guys as you are all going through so much! I wish you all well and looking through the hundreds of comments I hope you all can draw the strength to come through and start to enjoy life!
