Hard to express my profound feelings of apathy and alienation for the Sandgaard new era.
At least we could hate Roland and Mouthall, admittedly for very different reasons.
How are we supposed to feel about the hero who rescued our broken down car from the side of the road, towed it to the garage at his own expense, and then drove it over a cliff?

Come on ? Really ? He has poured money and enthusiasm into the club. It hasn't worked this season, I feel sorry for him. Maybe some lessons learnt? Possibly/I hope so. But driven off a cliff.....what planet are you on? Once we are safe we go again, please think about being more positive, smell the Valley grass- its still there and we have a team. Under Southall and whatever followed we were genuinely going over a cliff. Not now.
Pleased you don't share my despair.
It just all feels completely rudderless to me.
Perhaps driven off a cliff is a bit strong. Maybe more like running out of petrol in the middle of nowhere.

Or, the hero who rescued our broken down car from the side of the road, towed it to the garage at his own expense, and then paid for repairs. It’s now dawning on him that the car is on its last legs, and needs replacing. Question now is, does he upgrade to a better model? As for tonight, not many of us are expecting a result, so perhaps we’ll get one.
Fate does seem to suggest Wimbledon ending their run tomorrow, but in reality it shouldn't happen. What the recent results have shown is that at the moment while we are a mediocre side, we're good enough to beat the poor (Gillingham, Doncaster) and out of form (Burton) sides, and Wimbledon are both.
Too early for JFC to start a game, we have to slowly ease him back. The obvious replacement for Gilbey is of course Morgan, as Lee isn't a "number 8". Indeed Watson would be a better player for that position than Lee.
I don't disagree but when was the last time either Watson or Morgan played at all?
If minutes don't matter, why do managers keep banging on about it? Why bother with preseason at all.
Which is why managers rotate their squads. Or indeed give senior players run outs in the U23s
It's not as if Gilbey and Fraser have been undroppable with their form in recent weeks, or that Lee has been sensational from the bench either.
Which we don't do either. I don't really understand that.
Our last 4 managers have all, at times, either blindly picked the same team and then undercooked players come in and fail or made 5 or 6 random changes game to game, normally because said players failed.
Cannot remember a more negative preview thread where we are facing a team who have not won in 4 months and 95% are predicting a loss.
What have we genuinely become?
If this doesn’t highlight in itself how low we have become on and off the field, nothing will. So sad.
A case of realism over optimism, Sage ?
I agree as realistically we are so poor throughout the club in many departments.
However, prior to the Lincoln game we had won 3 on the bounce and kept clean sheets in each. It’s also not like we haven’t been creating chances, we just haven’t been putting the ball in the net. It would be typical Charlton that we hand them their first win in half a season but we are also just as likely to win the game and keep a clean sheet.
Looking forward to finally going to AFC ground my local after two postponements watched the stadium being built and my son's work space looks into the ground
I miss the old Greyhound ground, the stockcar racing, car boots but pleased that AFC came home to Plough Lane
Just hoping for a good match, that Charlton turn up, Stockley & Washington take their chances, JFC starts, DJ back?
Lived in area very long time - so done the journey in reverse too many times to the Valley to count I drive but when take public transport.......From Charing X / Waterloo - Northern Line to Tooting Broadway or train to Earlsfield (both 20 min walks)
Pubs - Tooting Broadway - Trafalgar, The Castle, Tooting Market multiple food and drink vendors - closest decent pub Leather Bottle - very large outside garden with good food - Parking - restricted close to ground but @ Broadway and 10mins walk away free after 5.30pm.
I lived in Balham for a while, during the late 1990s Curbs/Mendonca/Kinsella/Wembley days .. for me, Train to Beckenham Junction then 54 bus .. Tooting then was a vibrant place, sounds as though it still is

I believe but am not certain, that Leather Bottle is home fans only.
The Earslfield and The Halfway House - both adjacent to Earlsfield train station and a 15-minute walk down Garratt Lane to the visitors’ turnstiles – are the designated pubs for away fans.
If purchasing drinks inside the stadium, supporters should be aware that AFC Wimbledon have implemented a reusable beer cup scheme to replace all single use plastic pint cups. Once fans have finished their drink, they are required to put these cups within the reusable cup bins located around the stadium.
WHERE TO PARK
There are limited parking options available, with no spaces inside the ground and Controlled Parking Zones in the local area. Some nearby streets are free to park from 4.30pm onwards, but check any signage before leaving your car.
Public car parks are available in the centre of Wimbledon, around a 30-minute walk from the ground. These include Broadway car park on Russell Road (SW19 1QG), St George’s Road car park (SW19 4EA), and Queens Road car park (SW19 8LN).
Where possible, supporters are advised to travel by public transport.
TRAIN TRAVEL
The stadium is well served by public transport links, with Earlsfield Station (trains to Waterloo and the South West), Haydons Road (Thameslink and Southern trains to the South Coast, Central London and Hertfordshire) and Tooting Broadway (London Underground, Northern Line) all within walking distance.
I have been supportive of Jacko being given the job and getting a chance but today is an important game for him. If we lose, those that support this may change their minds. Yes we need to rebuild, but we should have enough to beat a side that has not won in 22 games. This is a potential point where things could become unnaceptable. I think we will win though by the odd goal.

Yeah fair enough in an earlier age we would say ran out of steam- or never got going. I don't think TS has given up despite the setbacks this season(at least I hope not)

The 3 wins were papering over cracks. None of the performances were particularly convincing against 3 pretty woeful teams.
Wimbledon have new manager bounce and imo Bowen is decent shout for them.
We will huff and puff for 15/20 mins, miss a couple of chances, concede and give up. The manager won't chnage his tactics and we will come nowhere near an equaliser. Wiimbledon will then get a second late on. I'd like to add that this place will then go into meltdown, but it won't as most people as far as I can tell couldn;t give a shit about this season or team.
Ideally, Stockley and CBT would not start so as not to risk overuse injury. But how would we go about scoring.
What are Stockley and CBT being saved for? May as well play the strongest team available unless they are incapable of playing (injured or knackered). I really don't get all this resting players for the next game nonsense. With them playing we have a decent chance of winning this game, much more so than beating Rotherham. Who cares about Saturday with a game this evening, particularly as we will most likely lose on Saturday in any case.
I don't see the point of playing any of the "new" loanees unless we are looking to sign them for next year or have some other contractual obligation to play them by the end of the season.
When he looks at the attendances for the remaining games this season I'm sure TS will realise the importance of playing attractive football next season. Imo people are just apathetic and want this season to end
I would head to Tooting Broadway before match- The Castle pub opposite the tube large outside area and Tooting Market - loads of bars, world food outlets is a better bet than Earlsfield + Tooting's Quality Indian restaurants, Lahore Khari,150 yds from tube, is a Fav & BYOB. At Least the pre-match food and drink should be OK, just need the team and in particular Gilby & Washington to turn up tonight for the travelling Addicks. Looking fwd to Away- Home match ! is it asking to much for a result and goals?
Lincoln Wimbledon Rotherham Morecombe all needed or need to win the games against us … tonight new manager most likely few changes for us level the game up …..

There are a few decent restaurants in Earlsfield, but Tooting's covered market is fun, and as you say, there are loads of good Asian restaurants.

I really don't tonight, or Saturday, or the rest of the season will change many minds.

We are not under pressure. If we continue to lose without pressure, it would suggest that skill and bottle are the issue, or the manager isn't good enough.

No supporter should ever wish for their team to lose. But as we are now safe from relegation I hope we don't win too many of our remaining game. I think that if we did then Sandgaard might believe the squad only needs fine tuning and in my opinion it needs a major overhaul.

Well at least it is a new ground to visit. I really cannot tell if we will add another nail to the Dons coffin or they will spark back to life. I remember when Taylor & Co beat us 1-0 at the old ground they used and that was painful to watch, especially with us going for the play offs. More of the same then, 1-0 Wimbledon.
