I don't think we really did , there wasn't many really outstanding loanees , heard good reports about Brooke Norton-Cuffey the Arsenal right back who's been at Lincoln but this isn't a season with a Morgan Rogers or anyone like that.
Famewo is the only one I'd consider. I do still feel there is a good player in there as shown by last season, yes he was poor this year but too many are forgetting how he played last year. He's still young enough to develop. It would all depend on the cost involved though if the rumours of him not wanting to stay are true it's a moot point anyway.
It's one thing not wanting to keep any of the loans. But I wouldn't base the opinion around thinking we will be getting better replacements automatically.
No, none. Famewo would have been a logical one, but while he can be a competent defender, he reminds me of a young Naby Sarr - there is a bad mistake in there waiting to come out and let a goal in. Burstow was never ready for the run as main striker he was thrown into by the injuries - in an ideal world, he would have been on the bench picking up the odd few minutes here and there. I have seen nothing that makes me think next term will be different. Lee looked the bees knees early doors, but it was straight down from there. And the rest? Nahh.
has anyone followed Brendan Sarpong -Wiredu progress at Colchester? I think we had a buy back clause. On wiki he has played 36 games in all comps, no goals but says he can play in midfield, full back yes....wait for it also wing back? I think I saw him play for 1st half of a friendly at CAFC that's all, but if we had a buy back clause maybe someone thought there was potential.
We had had some good loans in the past but we have slipped too far down the leagues to attract decent players, hence the the poor show this season. I wouldn’t keep any of the present loans, they’ve added very little to Charlton. I doubt we would have gone down without them, we certainly never looked like contenders for anything other than mid-table also rans. Next season I would prefer journeymen players on frees rather than the premiership hopefuls who don’t deliver.
Good thing we already have Gunter, Watson, Matthews and Souare on the books! That’s the summer sorted. We can even ask for Arter back…
At least 3 of those are not being offered contracts and are off as announced last week. Interesting you mentioned Harry Arter who was loaned out again, this time to a national league side. We are not too far off that sort players now. He did feature more than the Spurs loaned wonder kid. Also Arter has played at a decent level, the loans haven't, he must have something to offer. Maybe its not the player but the set up needs a look at.
Because you don’t want experience if they’re on the decline like Arter. Nothing wrong with an experienced loan if they’re still up to it, but you have to question why’re they’re being loaned out to begin with.
Nope, none of them have been consistently up to League 1 scratch. Elliott Lee got closest, can't fault his effort or enthusiasm. The misplaced passes and lack of end product I initially put down to trying too hard which is always forgivable. Trouble was he didn;t really improve much, even after the lenghty run he got in the team. A fit JFC would have kept EL out of the XI. Being replaced by Albie Morgan at the back end of the season has to be the clearest marker of where he ranked.
Nope. Too many inconsistent appearances have left them with no real pulling power in the transfer market. If a reference was sought from us about them, how many of us would recommend them to a 'mate'?
If Thomas is happy with bang average performances then keep them. It's his choice but fans will vote with their feet next season. Be warned that target 20k+ is in serious jeopardy.

Completely agree. It’s like the mediocrity has set in and we seem to want to make excuses for it or have accepted it.
If you honestly take a cold hard look at Purrington, Pearce, Matthews, Inniss or any of the loans, are they going to push us on next season, even as ‘squad players’. The answer is emphatically ‘no’ otherwise we would be in a lot stronger position than we are now.
Re: the Famewo question. The issue I have is that I sense he thinks he’s better than league one and if we’re spending some of the transfer budget on him then that’s mental. If he was a free transfer then I could slightly buy into the argument those are making on signing him
Famewo has been erratic under Bowyer, Adkins and JJ. Please let's not keep blaming the coaching !
Akin probably can get a Championship move it his wage demands are reasonable. Needs to not making so many bad passes. Can look good on the ball but final pass !

Problem is, do you trust the "recruitment team" to bring in the quality needed to get at least into the play offs if we aren't going to re-sign Innis, Purrington & JFC, as well as signing maybe Lee & Famewo.
I say not. Love to be proved wrong but don't be surprised when I'm back on here in late July wondering where the 12 new players are & why are we signing Stevenage's left back instead of Purrington.
To all those saying No to all of them........you do know that means replacing 6 players in addition to the 5 or 6 that will be released/ wont re-sign. A dozen new players to come in. Good luck in getting them all to gel, especially when most wont be signing until close to the season starting.....and the loanees close to the transfer deadline (which will be after 4 or 5 games have already been played).
FWIW- I'd sign Famewo & Lee. We wont be able to do much better.
Wigan signed 21 players and are top of the league
That must have come at a cost that club can’t sustain. Could be a good bet to come straight back down and keep going.

Instead of hopeful loans why not get experience?

No, let them all go and find better players.
WHAT WAS THE FECKING POINT!!
🎶 Saw my friend yesterday… 🎶
If this was my summer… Of the out of contract players, only Washington, JFC and Purrington get offers.
Every other signing we make must be better than what we already have. We cannot be signing squad players this summer.
And from that he has gone to the lumbering wreck that was playing at Ipswich today - slow, out of position, an accident waiting to happen.
Maybe he might be better in a back 4 but if JJ is insistent in sticking with 3 at the back there is no place for him here.
Anyway, I read he thinks he is good enough for the Championship. Good luck with that, Akin.
