Ok we used to have a flagging system which was deemed to be a bit antagonistic by admin, so it was done away with way back.
We now have only the LOL option which I and I assume most others are a bit confused with as to its usage.
It seems that more and more it’s being used as a sign of disapproval.
Often I find something that I genuinely find amusing and would like to use the LOL option to show that and complement the poster, however I rarely do that any longer because LOL is now used more of an indication of disapproval or disagreement.
I know this has been kicked around previously on the forum, however I think what is otherwise a fabulously run organised and user friendly place, it would benefit with some kind of disapproval/disagreement option and allow the LOL option to be used for what it says on the tin…..i.e funny.
Do I need to get out more? 🥹

so, if i was to hit it at the bottom of SoundAsa£'s post he would get a message saying "cafcdave123 thinks you're a mug" BUT it would also send him my mobile number and email address in case he wants to pull me up on it
My theory is that originally started probably as a "this post is so bizarre that it's funny" button as you occasionally get on any website/forum. But over time it can seep into any post that you strongly disagree with. I also think it's a lot easier to LOL react to someone's post if another has done so already and it can often snowball from there.
The internet and social platforms are a polarizing place. I suspect we'd all get along well down the pub but people get proper aggy on the internet over the smallest things and I can assure you it's not limited to this website.
Like is pretty self explanatory.
Not sure anyone actually laughs out loud at very much.
This would put the power in the hands of the fans and away the thieving spanner loving admin.
Ten PP = 1 promote
Upvote a good contribution, downvote a bad one. doesnt matter if you agree with it or not, "like" implies you agree with the comment and "lol" can be antagonistic.
