Awful news RIP. A massive shock, especially as unlike Dave and Martin, he hadn't really overindulged.0

Well that's horrible. Part of my era of music.

Gutted.
Depeche are my musical heroes, the clichéd 'soundtrack of my life'.
Seen them gig over 30 times. First saw them in the mid-80s in Germany, last saw them in London, Prague and Manchester on the 2017/18 'Spirit' world tour.
RIP 'Fletch'.4 -

Give them a go and then venture onto their more recent stuff. 'Wrong' is a great track from 'Sounds of the Universe'.3 -

Saw DM at the O2 about 15 years ago. Better than I thought it would be. How Martin Fletcher could go before Dave Ghan is beyond me

I never really got them but they are absolutely, staggeringly huge here and across Central and Eastern Europe. All the main media outlets here are running the story. No age, is it? RIP.2

Dreadful news, had the privilege of meeting him a few times and was a top bloke, Devotional tour did get to him a bit but he seemed to be the glue in DM. Without him there would have been no Ultra, Delta Machine, Spirit and anything post Songs of. But there would have been no Speak and Spell either. RIP Fletch.4

I’m stunned.
They have literally been there since I was 10/11.
That one band that I always listened to without being hugely into.
Proper music of my youth.
Which then transcended into adulthood when I went to see them with my nephew.
I instantly thought of Alison when I heard the news.
Christ they must be beside themselves.
RIP Fletch & thank you so much 😢2 - Sponsored links:

Shocked and saddened. RIP0

Mid 80's they were my favourite band.
I'm guessing that he was barely 60, no age, but must have had wonderful life.
Sleep well Fletch.0 -
D M were/are not my cuppa, but 60 is far too young to die .. R I P0

One of my favourite non-Rockabilly bands. So much good music, a huge part of the soundtrack of my later schooldays. So sad. RIP Fletch.0

Still can't get my head around this. So sad. My favourite band and they've provided my wife and I with some amazing memories seeing them on city breaks to Hamburg, Rome, Barcelona and New York.
I was even lucky enough to see them in the Glasgow Barrowlands in 2017 Spirit Tour warm up gig.
End of an era and so sad for his friends, family and Dave and Mart. Never the most talented of the band but we all loved his enthusiasm and legendary clapping although he was a very underrated bass player. He was the glue that kept the band together.
So young to be gone. Thank you for the music and R.I.P Fletch.

Fantastic musician. RIP0

Never Let Me Down Again live in Paris 2001. Go on YouTube, turn the volume right up but watch the footage of them performing as well.
Truly magnificent.3 -
Too young. RIP0
