Not really a fan but my sister (whose judgement I trust) saw them at Wembley a few years ago and said they were outstanding.
My wife loves them and when she taught at a school in Hampstead Garden Suburb, one of the parents was something to do with their production team and donated a signed CD to a school fundraiser raffle which she won.
Once the special effects and light show start to dominate the music starts to take second place. Some of the stadium bands seem to have lost sight of the raw excitement of music.

I hear you, what I'll say though is the price of tickets to stadium shows now I think enables it should enable bands like Coldplay to do the light shows. Doesn't take away from the music, it adds to it

That’s the thing with Coldplay. Their (well, Chris) performance levels and musicianship are top class. I did see them early doors (pre-yellow) and they have got better as performers over the years. The lighting is the cherry on top.

Really don't like stadium shows - just kills it for me.

Definitely prefer the smaller venues, but been to some amazing stadium gigs as well. Depends on where you get yourself in the crowd and whether they’re all up for it as well.
Like the first three albums, can tolerate the fourth and lost interest after that. Cant honestly say I’ve listened to a new song of theirs since 2008 other than those that you can’t avoid hearing in public. Paradise is probably the last song that I can remember. Very talented but ran their course a while ago for me so fair play to them on their longevity. Never did get to see them live when concerts were affordable way back when.
So. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for 6 dates @Wembley London next summer. I know. I know. But my youngest has been on about seeing them for a couple of years but I'm always behind the curve when trying to get tickets and forget I need to try and get some. He's desperate to try and go So I'm going to have a crack the morning. What are my chances? Any tips? Thinking of going for the Tuesday or Wednesday dates as thinking they might be slightly less popular?
Tomorrow is the presale. You say you’re behind the curve, but have you had your presale email/code through OK?
I certainly have Tel. I'm well ahead for once!
I’d probably log into your Ticketmaster account an hour before and have your payment info all already logged. Biggest demand will probably be the weekend gigs, so fingers crossed you’ve got the right idea going for during the week.
I was logged in at 8:30 (couldn't do it any earlier as was commuting into the office) and I'm currently 33k in the queue.
You're 70k in front of me!
Fuc*ed up as per usual. When I clicked the email link at first it went straight to the app that for some reason wouldn't display the pre sale! Had to log out/ uninstall the the app for the link to direct me to the browser! Absolute bollox. Never wanted to see the pale, kale munching eco warrior anyway!
Additional Wembley dates just announced. 7th and 8th September. Presale starts at 2.30pm for those who already had presale codes for this morning. That sale has now ended apparently.
Now in the presale for Sun 7th Sep... and there's 32,000 in front of me. Sigh. Why couldn't it have kept my place in the queue from earlier when I got kicked?

and got to the end of the queue to find the only tickets left were £250+. What a waste of a day!

Not a sniff for me either. Stayed in the queue until around 1:30. And then it started dropping fairly rapidly. Good old Ticketmaster letting us all down slowly by getting our hopes up. 1 before me in the queue! This is it I thought....All pre sale tickets now sold out!
And what the f**k was the queue for the queue all about at 08:30? Nice to see tickets going for around £400 elsewhere 10 minutes after the queue for disappointment started! The major event ticketing business in this country is about as corrupt as they come. Arseholes
Was back in the queue this morning. Got my hopes up as I was only 2,000 in the queue. Got to the front and nothing left for the day I wanted. Changed dates and then I was 134,000th odd in the queue again.
it would make much more sense if there was like one queue for each venue and when you got to the front, ticketmaster would tell you what tickets are left on what dates so you can make a choice, rather than have a queue for each bloody date. Surely that couldn't be too difficult to handle technically?
Every time I try and get concert tickets, I end up empty handed.
Is there some sort of technique that I'm not aware of that people use to get tickets?

Ie not having to have a code to get them.
General sale for all dates is tomorrow at 9am.
Tried to get back in and there's now 180,000 in front of me.
Got dicked for Oasis tickets and now I'm not going to get to see Coldplay either.
(And I'm never going to get to see my football team win anything before I die before anyone says it lol...)

Absolutely ridiculous.
