Another great trip to Italy this weekend , got 2 games in at Venezia & Udinese. Also got to see Ademola Lookman Score for Atalanta, made in charlton of course.
Venezia, oldest stadium in Italy. Arrive by water taxi.
Yes, I think it is on an Island which is brilliant. I'd love to catch a game there. On my bucket list. Venice is probably my favourite place in the World. Went there a few months ago but sadly it was off season. Best kit in football too. The Nike one a few years back was a thing of beauty.
I used to watch Lookman in the u18s and initially thought he had bags of talent but was just too small and would get bullied. I met him a few times and couldn’t believe how erudite he was and was an extremely gifted student too
im so glad it’s worked out for him because for a while, it looked like his agent had cocked up his career guidance with a few dodgy moves. Shame he declared for Nigeria….he’s look good in an England shirt again
He is still small but his natural ability more than makes up for that. One of the smallest players that I ever played against was Paul Walsh. He was as tough as any 6 foot plus player and it never stopped him. Ademola has shone and excited me in any game that I have ever seen him play. There are few players that are able to excite in that way.
Sadly he has chosen Nigeria as I think he would be a good sub to change things for Engalnd. When you have big benches, different players are very useful depending on the attributes of your opponents. For instance, one of my keepers would be a penalty specialist, even if he is from a lower league.

Very pleased for him though, be good if he stays there for a while as well because he's jumped around from club to club in recent years.
