  • This means the end of Charlton TV/ifollow which is a shame... means itll be impossible to watch the games we aren't picked for

    Why does it?

Why? For one, it's the Premier League that's said this, so won't affect us for a while, and secondly if the 3pm blackout still exists then Charlton TV will still exist, as the blackout is only in the UK (which is why there's so many streams of UK football as everyone outside the UK gets all the games)

The rumour is that every game that's not a 3pm kickoff will be on TV, so any EFL game that's midweek or at any other time will be available to watch on Sky/TNT wherever wins the rights. That's a bigger deal because it will impact ticket sales (especially if it's far easier to watch us on TV than spend 45 mins looking for a parking spot 2 miles away from The Valley)
  • Q&A: EFL & Sky Sports broadcast rights agreement - The English Football League

This is towards the bottom of the above article. Not sure if i have interpreted it wrong?

CHANGES TO CURRENT WAYS OF WATCHING

Will matches still be available to watch via iFollow, or Clubs’ alternative streaming services?

    • From the 2024/25 season onward, this new deal with Sky Sports will effectively replace the EFL’s domestic video streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services
    • Audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences.

  • EFL announces landmark broadcasting deal with Sky Sports

Each season, Sky Sports will broadcast a minimum of:

    • 328 Sky Bet Championship matches
    • 248 Sky Bet League One matches
    • 248 Sky Bet League Two matches
    • All 15 Play-Off matches
    • All 93 Carabao Cup matches
    • All 127 EFL Trophy matches

Each League weekend fixture round will see 10 live EFL fixtures shown. Five matches will be shown from the Sky Bet Championship and supporters of Sky Bet League One and League Two teams will now benefit from greater coverage than ever before with five of their games being broadcast live. For the first time ever, fans will be also able to watch every match from the Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy.

All opening, final day, and midweek fixtures in the Sky Bet EFL will be shown live as will all games played on Bank Holidays including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day alongside the matches played in Sky Bet League One & Two during international breaks.

  • No one wants/needs to see 248 league one games on TV.
I don't even want to see one more wanky League One Charlton fixture never mind the rest of this shit , we've all overdosed on this crapness, a lifetimes worth of shit in 15 seasons of crap

If you're not attending a Charlton game you'll be able to watch all Charlton evening games live on Sky Sports, plus Carabao Cup & EFL Trophy games.

Plus you may be able to see a live Charlton weekend game as they are showing 5 live games from L1 &L2, so a 5/24 chance.

So a 19/24 chance you won't be able to watch Charlton weekend games live?

    No legal streaming available.
But you could still watch Charlton games via i follow in the UK with a VPN.

    Is this correct?

No worries. I'd very disappointed as a genuine overseas fan if iFollow as a whole was taken away after now having it available now for 5 odd years.

I agree... Wouldn't see the point of having my Holiday Homes anymore either.

It would be a huge kick in the teeth, I’m not sure how I would deal with going back to audio only.

Indeed, audio not even close to watching the match live. I would imagine the CAFC TV production (if they choose to continue it) will be hugely scaled back for 'international' viewers - should that be the case I would hope the price would be adjusted down to reflect any reduced quality.

I’d be happy paying the same price, I think it’s very reasonable and as far as I can remember there was no increase in price when CAFCTV was beefed up.
  • £10 seems to be the standard price for streaming a game everywhere, including non league.

  • Looks like those who don't pay is starting to be noticed by clubs in our division
