Well deserved, Shrewsbury threatened at times but were more interested in protecting and hitting us on the break - How that has got them to the heights of 8th (before the game) I'll never know.
Glad Rak-Sakyi got the winner, but got he was shit and that will be reflected in the marks from me.
I’m surprised. Perhaps I’m seeing this wrong, but apart from the two misses (which you get from a young inexperienced player) he was very good on the ball again, created chances for others, got into good positions and took his third chance well, especially having missed two.
Keep it up Jes! Great assist from the byline by Payne on his right foot. Another good cameo from him.
Unusually I got prediction right with Campbell for CBT, and I thought he looked very good indeed.
lovely win, thought campbell did well couple of lovely efforts, stockley can piss off shouting his ear off for giving him a pass to run onto, does that far too often, and aneke did more in 10 minutes than he did the whole game
Stockley was excellent today... His hold up play to bring others in to the game further up the pitch was outstanding, and got us off the hook defensively about two or three times when we pissed about in our box first half
excellent is way ott
Certainly doesn't deserve the dig after the shift he put in.
We were so hard to read early on this season because we were drawing so many games. Were we good or were we bad?
The season was on a prolonged knife edge because of so many draws. People say it takes 10 games to figure out how good you are but it’s taken us a handful of extra games this season.
I almost lost faith in us after the horrendous result at Barnsley. That was the first time heads went down on the pitch and I thought the results were going to turn from draws into defeats.
But since then we’re now five unbeaten, three clean sheets in four and were making the teams behind us nervous. Everything is looking positive, and the coaching staff have to take massive credit.
Garner is a very good manager who won’t be at this level for more than a couple of seasons.
Very much echo these thoughts.
I didn’t think we were bad this season at least until the Bolton to Barnsley run where it did start to feel like the wheels were coming off a bit - though even then I was still encouraged by our patterns of play and what we were trying to do.
But just like we shouldn’t be having massive meltdowns when we don’t win a few, and by golly there were loads on here - we shouldn’t get too carried away with a few wins either.
Dont pick up at least 4 points from our next 2 and then this little run will be wasted. It’s that close this season.

I’m getting carried away but this team has most of the qualities needed for a promotion side. We have grit, technical quality, athleticism, experience, youth, strength in depth. Combine all of that with the momentum we’ve got now from 3 wins on the bounce, we will be up there.
I wouldn't go that far. Injuries to any of Stockley, Dobson, Inniss or either full back and we'd be considerably weakened.
Great win today though, deserved to score more. Win Tuesday night against rock bottom MK Dons and we'll be well up for Ipswich next weekend which will give us a good measure of how good we are.
We spent all summer and the first quarter of the season and look awful, change system and suddenly we’re one of the best teams in the league!
Instead of trying to play Garnerball with too many holes in the formation, all it took was a gameplan to allow the players we actually have to play to their own strengths.
Very proud of the players after that. Really dug in against a physical side and tried to play football when we could. Could and should have won by more but 3 points all the same.

Yeah when you play him in a system that suits him, he's a very good League One striker. He drops deep, he occupies defenders, and his hold up and layoff play is quite good. His passing is quite underrated. Long may it continue.

I thought he was really wasteful again, constantly losing the ball - He needed that goal for his confidence, but thought he should have been the one subbed instead of Campbell, so glad I got that wrong.
To add to what foreveraddickted said, we have played all the teams in the top half except for Ipswich and Peterborough. We need to use the next few games to keep the momentum going!

He wasn’t constantly losing the ball was he? Well it didn’t feel like he was anyway. They’re raving about him post match on CTV.
I’ll give him a solid 7 including an extra point for hitting the winner in our first away win. I think Campbell was subbed because he was tiring. He’s pretty young isn’t he?
Stockley battled well, defended well, but we'd still be a much, much better team with a very different striker.
I think we'd be better, I don't know about much, much better. The type of striker we need is really difficult to come by at this level. And we do have one in Aneke (his shortcomings are of course noted). But I think the last few matches have shown that when he has a partner, Stockley is a good striker at this level. And we've also seen that we don't necessarily have to have an out-and-out number 9 to play up front with him.
It would be nice if we could go to 4-3-3, that I will absolutely grant. And that does require a striker different to Stockley. But in the interim, Garner is doing a good job of making the most of the players he has.
Once again, as Brownie would say, the lads left nothing on the pitch.
Each one of them contributed today and Chuks showed once again what a handful he is although my knee jerk reaction when he stayed down was an ear piercing " NO!" followed by a loud bang as our neighbour fell off his chair...
In spite of the increasingly worrying mess behind the scenes, Our Ben is getting the best out of his men .

Yeah there were about two / three occasions where Stockley "burst" into the box, and just didnt have the pace to get on to ball, when a faster nippier Striker potentially would - Unfortunately that type of Striker tends to cost a lot of money, even at this level.
Let's not under estimate how much having most of our senior players fit makes.
Sessegnon makes a massive difference and the psychological difference Chuks makes can't be understated.
The form, and style, of MK Dons makes me think there might be a thrashing on Tuesday night.
Excellent point, if you're the opposition and you see us today and think we might have CBT to come back Tuesday or Saturday, you're not fancying playing us. If Plan A doesn't work, we have Aneke, Campbell, Payne, and Morgan all to come off the bench to change the game. Or Clare and Thomas to help shore things up.

I respectfully disagree. Stockley is so limited that we've had to change formation just to accommodate him. He's scored 2 in 15 (only 1 from open play) and is on course to score 6 for us this season. You can see when Chuks comes on how much more of a threat we are, particularly on the break, and how much more cohesive we look as an attacking unit in our passing and movement. You can see all that Leaburn offers as well - the positions he takes, his movement alone creates openings.
I can't accept this reasoning "What you're asking is difficult to find at this level." People said that to me when I thought we could do better than Matthews & Purrington!
Stockley is doing his absolute best for us, he deserves praise for that.

I don't necessarily disagree, I just think it's a matter of degrees.
Replacing League One fullbacks is very different to replacing a League One striker with one who is mobile, scores goals, and ideally can help in the build up. Clarke-Harris, Aaron Collins maybe, Stockton. Then Aneke. Probably a couple more that I'm not thinking of, but you're talking about hundreds of thousands of pounds in transfer fee alone when we've already spent hundreds of thousands on Stockley and Aneke.
Contrast that with we got Egbo on a free, Sess on loan, and Clare for a minimal fee last season.

Well done Garner and the players.
Another Garner masterclass.
Slept through 2nd half and woke up just before the final whistle. Happy days.

Glad we stood up to a really physical and niggly team who have some decent players
So happy for the fans who made the trip
