Plymouth Argyle vs Charlton Athletic
Tuesday 22nd November 2022 - 7pm KO
EFL Trophy 2nd Round
This may well be the lowest watched Charlton game in history this Tuesday evening
The Addicks travel to League One leaders: Plymouth Argyle for the 2nd Round of the EFL Trophy, having advanced to the next stage in "dramatic" fashion, a injury time goal from Jack Payne against Brighton & Hove Albion U21s would break Gillingham hearts, and send the Addicks through to the next stage of the competition... With kick-off at 7pm, this game has the unenviable task of competing with France vs Australia in the World Cup - It wont be a surprise if many opt for the latter given our own performance in Staffordshire on Saturday.
Plymouth come into this game having topped their Group in the first round (for the first time since 2015-16 when they reached the Quarter-Finals), fending off Bristol Rovers | Crystal Palace and Swindon Town in the process, and of course come into the game full of confidence, what with topping the League One table, and with the Manager: Steven Schumacher having recently penned a new deal at the club, until 2027... Bit ambitious if you ask me.
Ben Garner will no doubt refresh the squad, given the fact that we've been running on fumes of late, it may not be the worst case scenario if we witness our first cup exit of the season tonight... It feels like there are more important matters to be focusing on instead... Especially if the threadbare team are struggling for fitness.

I would play the best team I could tonight. Although I doubt anyone will be watching.1 -
I’ll be watching whilst doing a training session on the indoor bike.
Be interesting to see if we put out a team as strong as FA has posted. It’s not like we’ve got many more options.1 -

I'd give Mitchell an outing, even if alongside Elerewe. Also think about playing Chin at right back and Toby Bower getting a first chance on the left. Kanu has to be close to a start, as Stockley is getting slower and slower...
AMB
Chin Mitchell Elerewe Bower
JFC Henry Morgan
Campbell Kanu Payne
Subs to include - Harness, Clare, Stockley, CBT, DJ4 -
I can't wait for this.3

I’ve paid for a stream but won’t watch in protest at the shitness of this shameful cup3

This is where having a big monitor really helps
France vs Australia in one corner, Plymouth vs Charlton in another1 -
Really fancied going to this but just can’t justify the petrol, and 9 hour round trip with work tomorrow. Will watch from home and hope for the best.
good luck boys and nick a win but more importantly no injuries please9 -
Is this one of the “buy seven get none free” package? Be amazed if anyone watches. The sooner we’re out of this ridiculous tournament the better. Play the kids. Home banker. Night night.1
-
Only realised we were playing tonight this morning. Not sure I can be bothered with it after Saturday.1

Live in Exeter now. Thinking of driving down. Anyone else going?0
-
I shall buy the stream for £10, and probably hate every moment.0
-
Think that line up very hopeful … be mainly academy players with AMB , Morgan Payne Diji the 4 players that were in the squad on Saturday that have to play the rest will be kids0

long trip to the table toppers who will be seeking revenge for the drubbing they got at the Valley .. who is fit for us and what team does Garner have in mind for this ? .. feck knows
Plymouth Argyle 2 v CAFC 00 -
Not going to watch it at all. We have more important things to sort out, like league and FA cup....this stupid competition is not worth putting a 'team that's running on fumes' out for....play the kids.2

As far as I'm concerned Saturdays FA Cup game is far more important.
Garner has said we are running on fumes so I'd rest as many as possible and save them from a long trip in a pointless competition.3 -
