FFS this bloody transfer deadline day is doing my sodding 'ead in...
If O'Connell want's to leave for forty pieces of silver then let him, in the end every player is a mercenary, out to rake in as much dosh as he can before he hangs up his boots...and it turns out, he is no different...as it turns out we are signing Hector, a player I must say I have not heard of before, mind you from the sounds of it, not many have, certainly in the last 12 months, coz he hasn't played.
We have three hours left of this manic day, and nothing would surprise me regarding Charlton Athletic quite frankly now...Roll on 11pm...🤪2 -

It's good that we've got rid of some of the dead wood but EOC is a strange one to let go.7
-
Getting rid of dead wood is goodReplacing everybody with freebies and loans with ALL their contracts ending in May is mentalWe will have NO playersThis is abjectly horrible. IF we had signed 1 or 2 permanents, I'd see the sense, but this has been a save as much money as possible window with no future planning at all involved.
If you want to be happy with that, so be it.
I'm not.
Us disbelievers have been proven right for the last two years. Stick your head in the sand AGAIN if you want to, but please don't hate us or mock us for refusing to believe anything but negatives

@AFKABartram is the most balanced person on here, IMHO.If he has concerns over O'Conell etc, PLEASE listen Charlton Life.0

what a shower of shit how any one thinks we are going to stay up with innis lavelle and a player that Wednesday wouldn’t sign because his not fit. I do not know. Our best cb is a kid that has only a dozen first team appearances for us.
are new owners going to change the name of the club?
I have never said everything is rosy. I've said we are Charlton and not Barcelona, i have said that we are lower league 1 so what should our transfer expectations be? I've pointed out that O'connel has been called league 2 standard on here more than once and now its bad that we are possibly selling him because he is the second coming of Baresi. I've pointed out that Bonne has scored double figures at championship and league 1 level, when he was being described as a league 2 player. I've been realistic and that's a big difference than be rosy.3 -

We lose a first team player to a non league side and people are annoyed about it.
Shows how desperately low we've sunk. Fuck off Sandgaard.
I'd be concerned if we were selling to Bromley.6 - Sponsored links:

I’m counting down the days for the early bird offer to renew my season ticket6

Why have we let EOC go? You can say what you like about him but he is NOT deadwood

Shambles FC marching on.
Where is the money or motivation from anyone to do any better than makeshift and make do this window? Sandgaard doesn't want to spend any more. No-one else is going to spend at a club they don't even own, even if they could.
The players who've gone were not good enough and won't be miraculously good enough next season either. They'd need shifting on either way.
We're not in this shit situation because we have got rid of MacGillivray and Stockley and Co. We're in this situation because they were the level of player in the squad in the first place.3 - Sponsored links:

EOC possibly was our best centre back but if this is a plan for next season then not one to build a promotion team around in my opinion, lack of pace is a major issue.
All depends on whether Hector is up to scratch I suppose but either way we aren’t going up or down so a good time for a clear out and see if the other options are better5 -
EOC is best CB we have.....better than Calamity Inniss and young Lucas will need to be managed carefully. What is going on?1
-
On the outgoings they're all players we needed to move on other than EOC so that's a good thing.
I'm not so positive about the incomings. They're all short term frees and loans to do a job. I expect most won't impress and move on in the summer rather than extend their stay. It's very much like when we signed Johnson, Eagles etc in the RD years.
With TS looking to sell I didn't expect a promotion push with players signing for fees and on long term deals. I'm amazed anyone thought that was a possibility given it soon became clear the takeover wasn't going to be done early in the window.
We need to get enough points to stay up and hope new owners come in early enough to have the sort of rebuild we need in the summer. The way the last decade has gone I'm not expecting it but it's the best we can hope for.

Kirk had a four year contract when he signed. Of course it's only going to be a loan. We will have to take a hit to move Charlie on permanently.

Selling our best centre back to a team in non-league because they offer more money than us in League One?
People have far too much faith in our atrocious summer transfer windows and the recruitment team.6 -
