Sorry are we talking about the Jimmy Anderson who 6 months ago was the number one ranked bowler in the world or a different Jimmy Anderson?
Only thing that should count is current form and on all available evidence he’s not a threat at this level any more. Unlike Broad, Wood, Woakes and Tongue
How quickly we break this partnership could determine whether we win this Test. For that reason, I do hope we get Wood on before Smith has time to settle.
Wonder if Root etc really celetrated there it might have been given.
The fact that he wasn't sure made it the easier call for the Umpire.
The ball hit the ground as he scooped it and I think Root, from his immediate reaction, knew that really. But he wanted it to go upstairs just in case it was out which is why I suspect he then claimed it.

I think he bowled better at Lord's, and in the first innings here than his figures suggest. Edgbaston was a grave yard for bowlers like him. The problem is, like England found out in the West Indies, if you leave him out and you lose you make yourself look stupid.
I don't think his pace is down, I have no idea why he is getting less movement in the air, or off the pitch, than he normally does but I don't think that's age/fitness related.
I suspect he won't play at the oval but I expect him to go to India, if he wants to.
What is it with you lot? I'm trying to follow the golf, the Test match, Kent and the odd horse race and it's too much for you just to keep up with one cricket match!!!!

I'm convinced that one of Moeen's liquorice allsorts he's been bowling today is going to get a wicket. If he doesn't know what he's going to bowl then I'm sure Smith and Labuschagne don't know either.

How is punter doing in the golf?
5 shots clear of the field still. Like a lot of cricketers, he plays golf left handed
Hopefully he proves me wrong, but really don't like Ali in the side Bat and Ball.... goes for too much with the ball and only the odd gem which gets a wicket, not good enough for me. But clearly there is no better spinner in England, depressing... Come on Ali prove me wrong!
