I'd like to know if the umpire gave a reason for his not out decision. Because, if he gave it not out because it missed Smith's gloves and bat and Stokes believed he caught it, it was perfectly reasonable to review it.
But if the umpire gave it not out due to it not being a clean catch, then the umpire should really have reviewed it, with an umpire's review.
I think they should overturn the decision to take away an England review, in the same way that Australia didn't lose a review when Starc played basketball with the 'catch' off Duckett.
How long have they known about Broad? Seemingly loads of stuff already being played like going back through his best bits with him and sit down reflection interviews

Feels like it's one they've had ready to go for a while , they've probably got the same for Jimmy
Great, they go off for lunch, with rain in the forecast, come back on and immediately off again for the predicted rain, bloody protocol and rules, no common sense or flexibility in delaying lunch for an hour, now predicted to be raining for 2 hours...draw here we come again!!

i have a feeling he'll be doing punditry for sky sports. They're really lacking a former bowler on the commentary team now that holding, botham and of course warne have gone, i mean mark butcher's been their seam bowling expert for this series for god's sake, pretty embarrassing. The fact sky got the scoop and they had something lined up points me to that.

Reckon he would be an amzing bowling coach with his knowledge and recent experience of bowling to the worlds best. But yes seems destined to be a pundit.
It's a shame it's ruining what would've been an amazing end to the Ashes, but one positive with the rain is if it takes the win away from the Aussies. I wouldn't fancy having to play for the draw to win the series

They've probably got one for Anderson too ready to go straight away as soon as the news is announced.

I would disagree. I think they may well come out and smash their way to the target, but there isn't enough time for us to take the 7 wickets needed.

In the Ashes, that is bollocks.
At least Ben Stokes can make amends and bowl us into a winning...
🤷🏻♂️

they film bits like that for the rain gaps to fill , I believe
Clearly he has gloved it, only thing in question was it a clear catch, normally that is just sent upstairs for the 3rd umpire to review.
England review
Final decision is not out.
We lose the review.
