Clare seems to be one of those players who hasn't got a permanent role in the team because he is so versatile. It was Robinson at Oxford who started to use him as a FB. He made his debut in midfield for us alongside Dobson and Morgan against Wednesday and I thought he looked good. He was then left out of the side but brought back at RB. Then he played at CB. And this season he has been RB again due to the absence of the best player in that position.

Upon his arrival back at the Club where he started his journey, the CAS Trust said that he is a "self-described box to box midfielder". How many of the 50 League games that he has started has he been asked to play that role? Dobson holds, Fraser plays the sublime pass and Clare makes the third man runs. What could go wrong?

Clair to replace Morgan for me. Good signing
I rather like Clare, he has a bit of a cavalier attitude about him, I hope he’ll still be on the team sheet and given a midfield role of some kind.
It's all about opinions. Personally I think he will only be useful as a utility player. He's not. Fb/wb/or cb. Can't see what role he'd play in midfield, he rarely beats a player and his crossing is poor and he's not a good tackler, nor creative ala Dobbo/Fraser. Squad player for sure but in a starting line up? Not for me.

Faux pas no.1… it really winds some up when people say they’ll give 110%

    You can’t. Just give 100%
    Coupled with talking utter tripe.

Did he mention massive club, great history?!
  • He "works... [his] ... nuts off for the team"...

Hopefully that’s on the pitch and not with his teammate’s girlfriend.

Funny you should say that coz I'm sure I also heard him say I'll give 110 per cent for the vag

I want 120% or he's just not trying
    I want 200%, then we'll only need 10 players.

I agree but I just assume that anyone saying this is making a percentage compared to the effort that they themselves give or gave.
'He gives 110 per cent' (of what I give)
    Or in this case
'I'll give 110 per cent' (of what I 've been giving so far)

It's the only way it makes sense.

    100% = what we need

110% = run around like a headless chicken

    120% = probably get injured after 30mins

his wiki page shows he was at Chelsea for 18 years (obviously from a very junior age) and was loaned out 8 times !! .. is this some kind of unwanted record ? .. he only moved away to QPR when he was 25/ 26 years old ..he's racked up around 250 first team games spread over 11 different clubs .. Todd Kane - Wikipedia

No. We're a South East London club.

"...me faaakin bollocks" would be far more appropriate.

I'll settle for 70% - 80 % most of the time with occasional periods of 90-95%.  100% for moments of high opportunity or risk.

    Great. Injured already
  • Was pretty steady considering he was originally starting at RB today. Shame, hopefully just a bit of tightness after not playing much. Hopefully the same for Sess!

Sign a fullback because we're short on fullbacks, and we lose 2 in 45 mins!

    Only at Charlton!

Only if it’s a sale or return mind you as it’s only a loan we could send him to Coventry I suppose  😉.

Looked useful - great floated ball for JRS early on. JRS was so shocked it got to him he forgot to score
