Anyone else one of these? I started building during the first lockdown (1989 Batmobile).
Really enjoy it and find it quite relaxing.
Currently 2/3 of the way through the 9000+ piece Titanic, brilliant set, but no idea how I will display it as it is 1.35 metres long.
Curious to hear whether I am on my own with this one...

Jesus wept... Camera > DC vs Marvel > Lego threads on CharltonLife... In me bloody element today!!
The only downside of Lego is the price, and trying to find somewhere to store it
Would love to get some of the huge sets, the Eiffel Tower or the Millennium Falcon etc.
Got a couple of sets though on display (Ship in a Bottle, the Infinity Gauntlet, VW Campervan and London Bus) - My Son turns five next month so we and the family decided to buy him his first proper Lego sets for Christmas, which gives me an excuse to help him out... Guess what he's getting for his Birthday4 -
I'm the same as FA - cost and space. I’ve got one IKEA cabinet in my lounge with space for one more decent size model, but waiting on something worth getting before committing.

I've got the Star Wars UCS Star Destroyer built and the Falcon ready to build.
Also found out that one of the Lego heads I have was a limited time, Lego store only release. Purchased for £50, now sells for £250 unboxed online. Not got the bottle to sell it though as it was a gift from the missus!1 -
loved lego as a kid, my son is really into it now and we've got lots of it - something really good we can do together that doesn't involve a screen!!!
but jesus wept, the cost of some of it !!5 -

Sets like the Eiffel Tower look expensive but they're something like 5p per brick
https://brickset.com/sets/10307-1/Eiffel-Tower
The alternative is looking at Lepin (Cheap / Chinese knockoff), I got the Bugatti version in that... and the majority of bricks were no different to Lego, some pieces were a bit of a tighter fit but couldnt complain
https://www.yourwobb.com/ - Is a good place to start looking at sets, some of which Lego dont even produce.
Just wish Lego would go back to producing more Castle, Space and Pirate type themes, rather than concentrating on the franchises1 -
I always put off getting The Simpson House & Kwik-E-Mart sets. Pretty gutted now they're discontinued.0

Got a mate who is always whinging about being skint, but will happily go out and get 3 or 4 £300 Lego sets at a weekend.1

The other beauty of Lepin... Can often still buy discontinued Lego sets if you look around0 -
Will pick up the odd set every now and then, or just ask the missus for crimbo/ birthday
Now, the next set has to be the Lego Optimus Prime. Lego AND Transformers?!?

I have so much lego that I have to rotate it between storage and display on a monthly basis!
Got a couple of sets kept in boxes unopened that between them are probably worth about a grand due to being rare/discontinued now. Emergency fund almost.0 -
Are adults serious into this? I wonder if you're pulling my lego.4

TBF it does come in 3 sections, so that is an option without chopping it up!

She has them built and still has the boxes in very good condition. She has quite a few sets that are now deleted and worth a bomb - Ghostbusters Fire House, Tower Bridge, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben and loads of the Creator Modular Buildings - Cinema etc.If she ever breaks them down and sells them all she would be quids in.I have the Strangers Things Upside Down set which now goes for silly money.1

Can I be the first to say, proper Charlton thread, up there with trains etc12

I'm now getting bloody Lego sponsored links every time I come on here!
Which is proof that the adverts on here aren't just linked to your browsing history because I can safely say I've never Googled "Lego". (Whereas previously I wasn't so sure when all of those dodgy east-European dating sires kept coming up! )4 -

I got the Optimus Prime for my 40th. Love it.3

The best thing about having young kids is I can encourage them to like Lego which they now do! More than happy to help them if they stuck putting it together
I've got quite a few bits myself, mainly Star Wars related. Would spend an absolute fortune on the stuff if I could.2 -

Not my thing but know someone who is.
Nightly videos of Emma Kennedy "relaxing with bricks" and a lending library of sets to build then post on0 -
